Had a discussion with a mate last night about this, what is the easiest thing in the world to be a world champion in (forget poker)?

I dont mean a sport that people actually watch or play professionally, I mean just anything that has an official world championship title.

For example, a few weeks back I met someone who was 5-time world champion in Counter Strike 3 (think thats what he said) which is a video game. I saw this morning that Gus Hansen is attempting to be world champion in a racket game called Rakelton or something.

Can you be world champion in stuff like tiddlywinks for example?

They hosted the World Gold Panning championships not far from me, a few locals placed pretty well in it - it's a open event so a wee bit of luck & who knows...... Don't know when it's back but the British and Scottish champs are held there every year.

There's also the swamp soccer World Cup  - fitness the main thing there from what I've seen.

I think any event without qualifiers & a fairly unknown skill would be the one to try. How about Stone Skimming?  http://www.stoneskimming.com/

I was part of a Gaelic Football team that won the British Student Championships back in my uni days despite never having played the game in my entire life. I've got a winners medal and everything  Cheesy

With all the organistions, it seems pretty easy to be a boxing world champ at times (obviously it isn't).

my brother's housemate suggests Cluedo.

a game of pure luck as far as I can tell, although that may be because cluedo is in the room with him at the time.

He also suggested you could be the world champion of 'lamp' because there's also a lamp in the room.

Matchstick throwing must already be a sport surely?  If not I am going to get practising as someone must start playing it soon.....must be a bit like playing card throwing.
