Yeh it's a misprint, it's a £600fo not a satty, I got told on Monday while playing the 10 seats guarenteed sat, not by Jen either, someone else must be in the know too eh Neil? 120ish runners and 13 seats on Monday, two more sats next week I think, plenty of value. There was even one of Neil's Black Belt types winning a seat, hope he's not spending Black Belt money on a Grosvenor event or Neil will have to stop telling us his company doesn't support the tour any more Smiley

One of our guys? You mean Kevin in Monday's sat? I wonder how you knew that... (normally I like my morning brag a little more thinly vieled...congrats).

Obviously it is their sponsorship money and they can do what they like with it. They do rely on my input a little though and I told them I would rather put my money into the Stars tour which is not perfect, but which seems to try a bit harder for the customer.

I know that if I had a customer at Black Belt who played £200,000 (the whole BBP team) worth of poker tournaments with me one year and £1090 (I played Luton) thenext I might wonder what I'd done wrong, I might communicate with them, I might try and win them back and I might listen to their complaints/criticisms. Obv Grosvenor don't work that way, best of luck to them in this market.

My main complaint about the tour was dealing standards, followed by floor standards, followed by too many events at the wrong times in the wrong places.

I don't have that problem in the Vic to the degree I would have in say, Blackpool (two years running at the crucial stage hands are mucked by dealers who are dozing off). Therefore I will play the main event next week safe in the knowledge that the Vic employs good dealers and the prizepool will be good.

Edit. I must say sorry to Jaffacake for acting like a complete cock earlier in the year. I was in a pretty dark place but that's no excuse. I will apologise in person when I next see you.

Gukpt, ukipt, genting tour, Dtd overlay comps are all hotting up to make domestic poker so attractive next year.  Gonna need deep pockets to play em all tho so something may have to give.

You'll be pleased to hear I ventured down to play the £250 6-max side event last night Jeff. Didn't see you.

Not sure about the Genting Tour Karl. I'm sure our guys will be playing them and I think they had to go for £400 or £500 (it seemed obvious Stars would go to £700 and I definitely don't see any problem with that, guaranteed it won't be the thing that effects the numbers - less telly coverage might).

I didn't really like to spend a lot of money on time, hotels and travel to go and play the £500 UKIPT events, but I justified it because they had big fields (nice 1st prize), television exposure (love being on the gogglebox), interesting places to go (I went to Edinburgh twice, Brighton once, DTD once and Manchester once), winning carried a lot of prestige, they had a £1500 High-Roller which helped to make it worth travelling and I could pitch my wares to a bunch of players that might fit the Black Belt Poker profile. They also have good dealers and floorstaff and I like some of the people behind the tour.

Which of those things can you offer me and would you think exposing lots of my players to a major competitor brand is a good idea? (obviously Stars is a competitor but I've long since accepted that all our players know lots about Stars and play on Stars and that if we can just make ourselves into everyone 2nd favourite poker site we'll be doing pretty well.

We'd like to be the Fulham of poker.

Not wanting to be a spam bot for Genting - all the info is out there, I'd just say give it a try. I know they are making a big effort to put on a good show and it's something I've been helping them with.

I'm guessing the 2nd part is rhetorical and that's something that's obivously up for you to decide.

See you for the PLO at the vic tonight - give us a spin!

I mean...they are poker players right, they don't live under rocks. They will probably find out about it anyway...

your major business driver should be brand loyalty, which means it doesn't matter if they find out about it from you or otherwise, they'll stick to you.

Apology accepted, not many people are man enough to admit being wrong, nice to see that some are.

Have booked a 4* hotel near Vic for Friday and Saturday night, 2 & 3rd December, but will not be using it. Cheapest rate on their website is now £480.
Can somebody buy it off me please?

Thanks

I could ring someone up and get a vague answer, (you know, the guy with the glasses, comes in a lot, plays £1/£2), but does anyone know who won the £600 at the weekend? How many runners did it get? Did anyone nice make the final? Did they finish it in one day?

I've been busy with iPops and haven't been in for a few days.
