Any lager is shite. Most Beers/Ales own it. T Tailers, John Smiths Smooth.

You can save your lager shit for southern puffs. Tongue

I think beer is pretty digusting. Obvs Stu Hopkin just unfriended me on facebook right now.

But the only thing close to beer that I don't mind drinking is probably Koppabergs and similar, so fruit ciders?

Not had any booze for a while and just fancied a couple tonight. I like Asahi if I can get it but my local doesn't have it, so I'm gonna taste test a few and compare notes  Grin

So tonight its Belgium v Spain v Denmark v England v Italy

Back in the year 2000 I was a student living in Swansea and decided to take a page out of Loaded's book magazine and do a Euro 2000 beer competition for the Uni paper. So gathered some mates and got a beer/drink from each of the nations competing played them off in the proper groups, knockout rounds etc

Only living in Swansea back then it wasn't possible to get a beer/cider etc from all the nations so compromises had to be made. So Skol represented Portugal (couldn't get Superbok) as Scolari was the manager and Stella represented Greece as the best known player - at least to us - was Stelios Giannakopoulos who played for Bolton at the time. Long story short these two ended up in the drinking final and obv Stella won, think it might have been the only paper in the world to predict a Greece vs Portugal final and the Greeks to win!

Ok I like the sound of that. I'm gonna do this as an ongoing thing for a laugh. Reckon I will have a few group stages and the winner of each group goes through to the final stage.

Once I have 5 or 6 beers from a bunch of groups i will have a final and decide on my favourite to win!

So San miguel goes through from round 1  Grin

Better re-name the thread I guess.

Nicer version of Kopperberg ? Never seen it up here but Kopperberg is very tasty, although it's welcome to heartburn city if you have more than 2 bottles.

nicer yes but they're not even in the same ballpark. this is soooo much nicer

the pear one is available in asda and the strawberry one in morrisons iirc. the bar in brighton that sells it really annoyed me on saturday by being closed at 9 o'clock

Niceeeeeeeee, will give the Strawberry one a try and report back my findings.

I only tried the pear one but it's gorgeous - tastes just like pear drops

Morrison's website is absurdly terrible but Tesco sell the Strawberry and Pear one, £2 a bottle, reasonable.

Sure dunno how I'm gonna do it tbh. Reckon I will just get a bunch of beers from each region and decide a winner from each. They will need to be reasonably available locally, I'm not chasing after specific brands just for the sake of it and going far out of my way.

definitely go with the ho's suggestion of Lech for the polish entry. they've got loads of gooduns but I probably drank more of this than any other while living there and it's easy to get over here

Its probs gonna be slightly more random than that. I reckon I'll just pick a region and hit the supermarket and see what they have!
