Hi all

A post to see if anyone else would think this a decent idea and would want to participate

With the private games facility on many sites we could run some single and mmt stas to bigger live events where the winner goes to the event but only plays for a % say 50% the other 50% is held by the people who played the sat that got them to the event, that way everyone has an interest in the event,

Any thoughts?

Done this with a few mates to various events once or twice before. Usually increase the amount to cover travel/expenses and all that also. Is a good idea and works well if you don't all have the roll to play a certain event.

As usual a lot of it comes down to trust and i'm not sure how popular it would be doing it with randoms.

Has been mentioned here before but never got going. Group of friends probably better. Would play ds/ukipt/genting but without giving away any %

Yes we've done this before...... when Blonde had their own cardroom. (makes it alot easier)
I've also done this a few times on another forum, and it works well......but the forum moderators oversee the money and liase with the online cardroom, ...buying in the player and then collecting any winnings to distribute to all those with shares.

Might be interested in playing some sats.

Absolutely no chance if I had to give away 50% if I won though.

Totally defeats the object.

Sure does!

You sell around that for some tourns anyway you plod. What diff? Plus you can get a return if you don''t bink.

I think it's a good idea.

Agreed.

We did run the odd sat when we had our own cardroom and then those involved all had a bit of a stake of the actual event. Worked pretty well also that if the actual winner had to call off then the seat would be taken by runner up, so on so forth.

The idea was that you had 2 bites at the cherry and it encouraged pisch players like me and Boshi to contribute in order to reach the buy-in required.

Understand Matts query of why would you play to win a sat and then have to give away a %.

For some of ours there had been added value, the likes of the Equal Chance ones. Was something like 2nd and 3rd place got a % stake or summat.

Ok then we seem to have a bit of interest  I wonder if the mods on here would be happy to oversee things a little ? also my 1st post was off the top of my head with the percentage but I still think some left for the field would work well as it gives all a chance at a return, maybe for the overseeing bit blonde could take a bit of the action as well,  anyone fancy a go at the main next week at the vic?

In so far as giving 50% away surely 50% for the winner is better than nothing if this is the only way they would play the event, my thinking was that would be aimed at people who wouldnt stump up the entry in the 1st place
