When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me i didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.

All above board and legal M'lord. But some stuff that means whatever we encounter we wont end up tied, bound and gagged..Smiley Had some weird trips on walks in the countryside and a few have lead to us getting chased by someone with a pickaxe/large knife.; You can never be too carful lol.

Tried a quick Geocache after reading this topic. Was sooooo much fun. The one I did was in the middle of Mansfield Market Square, so had to be really discreet. Really enjoyed it lol

Do you have a plan on how to approach it?  Are you going to knock on the door if it's an occupied house?

Geocaching is great fun.  If you have a look on the main site, you'd be amazed on how many there are, they're all over the place.  There's one right opposite my house on a road sign that's been there for a couple of years, amazing.  My little girl loves it, it's fun treasure hunting.

Yes there are caches everywhere! so no walk in the countryside or town has to be dull. My little ones too young for it right now but in a few years we will be caching again. I planted one in Leeds park square it gets about 2-3 finds a week.

What would a 'cache' usually contain?

Is it just a log sheet saying congrats or something similar?

Or does it generally give a clue to another location and the find goes on etc?

Can be any of those.  Often it's a log on who's found it.  Others have items that can be swapped, nothing expensive, keyrings are common.  Some have disposable cameras in them so you take a snap shot when you find it.   You can get some that are a series so when you find one, you move on.  The possibilities are endless.

You'd be suprised on how popular it is.  They're all over the world and in every location you can think of but unless you know what to look for, you'd never know.

I love the multi stage caches, i had one called "Mouse Run 1" "Mouse Run 2" "Mouse Run 3" "Mouse Run 4", you had to find the coords in the first 3 to open the locked chest in the 4th! it was pretty popular.

Fav cache is at the cow and carf near Otley/Ilkey, you have to find a cach which has a 20 foot rope with hook on, where you go to the cliffs and in the right place lower it down to pick up a small container with the end cache in.

Hardest cache, a deep cave near Derby where I had to squeeze into tiny tunnels to find a cache, really dangerous.
