When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me i didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life.

Go there! Getting off train at St Andrews, old dear asks me to help her off with her 3 bags from the rack...'this one this one and this one'. Help her off with the bags on to the platform, she's greeted by some chap, maybe her son. I go back and get my bag, I'm the last off. They've left one bag on the platform, obviously going back for it (I'm too laden to help). I get to my car in the station car park and wait, but everyone has gone. I look back on the platform, there is no one there, but the bag is sitting there all on its own. I go back and picak it up, assuming she's forgotten it. Walk into the ticket office, explain to the guy, who suggests that I open it. Open it, to find
3 x passports, One has photo of youngish chap, and bunches of airline stubs for flights to Amsterdam.
5 x clear bags, each containing about 10 thousand pounds in Kuwaiti dinars
1 large dark sealed bag at the bottom, contents unknown.

What to do next?

explain to the man that this is actually my bag, theirs is in my car, I'll brb.

Clear off.

Check exchange rate so see if 10k in Kuwaiti dinars are worth something

1 Kuwaiti dinar = 2.33352523

I'm keeping it.

Celtic would be gutted.  He thought that "Kuwaiti Dinar" was a restaurant.

Yeah, all real. Gave it to the station guy. Worst option maybe Sad
Who carries huge money on a train luggage rack? Someone who can't be caught with it on them.

Dunno, I'd  rather have taken it to the police - don't you get to keep money thats been handed in if no one claims it?  If it's dodgy (drugs in package?) the police is the best place for it (unless you have buyers of course Cheesy) but I'd rather they not come looking for me to reclaim the package.

Went to the bench, looked around to see if anyone was about (i was paranoid either a camera was on the bench or someone from the 1-2 houses was having a giggle). Then began searching the bench and after 5mins bingo a nan cache was hung on the underside of the bench..with a note in it.
