***OFFICIAL*** Raman's E/W Printing Money Thread

So following on from
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=55617.0
thread in which I have posted a number of selections through the month of November I am going to start my own thread/journal of the E/W bets I am making each day.
These are not tips, they are simply my thoughts on horses I think may be over priced and represent a good opportunity to place an each way bet to make a profit.
For those who don't understand each way betting - An each-way bet is a wager offered by bookmakers consisting of two separate bets: a win bet and a place bet. For the win part of the bet to give a return, the selection must win, or finish first, in the event. For the place part of the bet to give a return, the selection must either win or finish in one of the predetermined 'places' for the event, such as in first "place" or second "place". The odds paid on the place part of the bet are usually a fraction (commonly 1⁄4 or 1⁄5) of the win odds.
I will attempt always to play in events were the first three places are paid as a minimum. Sometimes this won't happen for example in the event of a non runner.
This method of betting has been fairly successful for me, it can be slow and laborious I won't only be searching for "dirty" each way bets but will be quite happy just to try and find what I perceive to be value.
Generally as a rule of thumb I bet e/w singles and doubles. On occasions I do mug bets that will either lose small or win big.
For the benefit of this thread I am starting with a 500 point bank. The value of my bet is dependent on different factors including price, previous form, chance of improvement etc.
If I select a horse at 20/1 and suggest that its a 5pt e/w bet (maximum) then as a rule of thumb its because i believe that the price about that horse is wrong, I might think its closer to a 10/1 shot. However it could be that I have seen the horse race previously and think I have noticed something that the odds compilers haven't.
For me this is not an exact science, I am not a professional punter, far from it.
Anyway I hope you all follow me on my journey to bustodom or richville!
My intention is to use this thread as a journal and keep accurate records so I try and show the discipline of getting my selections on early as soon as I have got my bets on, In the unlikely event that I haven't been able to get my price early I will only call out those bets later in the day. I hope by keeping this journal it will prevent me from chasing.
This thread will show all my daily bets, which can see me betting on > 70% of races.
Selections will appear for tomorrows racing either late tonight or first thing in the morning.

Good luck with this.
I've had a couple of punts on your tips and the really sick sweat for Leatherman yesterday was bob stuff.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k. “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi. Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

Some people don't get it, btw I copied it direct from wiki as I'd have probably confused anyone not sure even further.

In total I have 11 selections for today spread across the three meetings, most selections as I am sure you would all expect run at Wolverhampton.
I have already managed to get 5 bets placed at what I think are reasonable prices. For this journal I am using bookies who offer Best Odds Guaranteed (BOG) again for those not too sure of betting terminology this means should I take a price on a horse early and the starting price (SP) is bigger I would get the Starting Price and vice versa.
Once all bets are on I will post selections with some thoughts behind the selection.
I am betting 46 points tomorrow over 11 races so nearly 10% of the bank in use straight away, unfortunately I've not come up with too many "fancy" priced horses. But I hope they are solid selections we can all follow.

Good luck with this, Raman.
In 40 years of punting, I never once backed someone's else's tips, it makes no sense to me, but I really hope you keep the thread discipline up, win or lose, & hope it goes well for you.

What doesn't make sense about it ? If your pretty terrible at betting on the geegee's but like a little flutter it makes more sense to follow someone's tips that has a clue then go with your own.

Thanks Tikay. I hope you follow it.
These selections are not tips in the conventional term, its more just my own selections if people want to follow then great, I hope we all make money if they don't I don't mind i won't take it to heart.
Did you follow the tipping thread on Saturday? That turned into quite a sweat. Sadly it never worked out in the end for Leatherman but he came very close to having a great Christmas.

Sorry, Ray, but I have always struggled to find a single reason, or a shred of logic, to backing other folks "tips", I can lose my own money without help from "experts"......!
I don't back the horses any more, but I used to, big time, & for a very long time, both in LBO's & @ the tracks.
I remember one Derby day, a geezer bending my ear about his fancy in The Derby, @ Epsom. "It's definitely trying today" he said.
Who'd have thought?

I never followed Saturday's tipping thread, no, but I was following the football results closely. What a day! Best football day for bookies since England v Algeria in the World Cup. Pretty bad for the punters, though.
