i go to london maybe twice a year ans i sure do pay £4for the tube. oyster ftw. lives in my wallet until i need it.

Bet if you did a poll of those who live outside of London or haven't lived there for a while the majority wouldn't know about oyster.

Nah more than that now, but I won't be going home till after the tubes finish anyway so only a single is any good for me.

I have bought about nine of the bloody things this year...everytime i go back down I seem to forget mine so buy another.  Must have about £100 of prepay credit on them at home.

no doubt. I haven't lived there, but my brother does (hence why I know about it), and ofc TfL have abs zero incentive to advertise it to tourists..

I've got one which automatically tops up from your debit card once it goes below a certain level - I'm not certain but I think if you lose it they charge a replacement cost but they can transfer the credit from your lost one to your new one (because it's registered with them).
