Cash game. Player 1 checks the river, player two bets 310 player 1 throws in 4 chips 3 x 100 and a 500 chip. Player 2 thinks its a call and turns his hand face up without saying anything. You are the floor...

Its a call imo
For it to be a raise, player 1 would either have had to state raise or thrown in 465 or more (ie the bet +50%)

For clarification the 800 was announced as a raise but player 2 didn't hear.

It's not relevant if Player 2 heard the word "raise". I am assuming the Dealer, & other players did, though. It's a raise.

Most blatant raise ever.
Player who has exposed their hand can only call or fold.

So it seems pretty unanimous. Open and shut case right? Time for the M. Night style twist! I was player 2. The floor was called and ruled that because I had turned my hand over without saying call that I was folding and my hand was declared dead despite me basically having the nuts. Certainly a hand that I would pretty much never be folding under any circumstances. Pretty clear fuck up in terms of both the letter and spirit of the rules that cost me a €2k+ pot. Thanks Coribthia towers.

have u learnt ur lesson then? Lol I can certainly begin to understand why everyone here takes about 5 mins to turn their hand over at showdown. I will be slow rolling everyone here for the foreseeable future until all action is completely clarified no matter what that means for the speed of the game even if I've got the nuts there's no way my hand goes over until theirs does.

Pretty open and shut imo. Only thing is you cant make aggressive action. So if you do have the nuts, you have to flat. At which point I give you a penalty for flatting with the nuts. (Im a nice guy )

pretty sure 800 is more than 465 and a pretty terrible ruling. how does turning your hand face up make it dead?

I don't generally get tilted when I lose. If I got it in good and they sucked out that's great because it means I'm playing well if I get outplayed that's ok because I can learn from the experience at least I can learn not to Play that person again until I get better. But this, trying to explain the correct ruling and not being able to get through to the floor tilted me more than anything in the world it was the nail in the coffin of me not playing the tourney today woulda def have tilted off. Had to take a long walk around Prague to get my head straight.
