Thoroughly agree you have to find something you really enjoy to make exercise regime stick. For me this has been cycling, I bought a road bike back in October.
I'm lucky in that I can cycle to work almost completely off road 5 mile daily round trip, but quickly wanted to added in 7 mile route several times a week in the mornings.
Obviously weather and dark nights not the best , so joined gym as well so can do indoor spinning when it's too wet and cold - really looking forward to long summer evenings.

My initial goal is to go from  76kg to 70kg - very motivating to pick up a dumbbell and realise I have to carry this excess weight up every hill.

The other thing I found brilliant for motivation is the Strava phone app (running/cycling app). You can record the routes you ride and compare your personal times over segments of the route against your previous times and against other riders.

how are my fellow fatties doing?

I'm still going quite strong, i've had a few events that have resulted in some less healthy choices but nothing too dramatic & still making good progress at the gym.

Doing regular weigh ins which keeps me focused even if it means the odd day where the scales jump up and scare me a touch.

Threads quiet these days, do pop an update on i'm sure it helps other people as much as it does me.

In what world is half a stone in two weeks unspectacular?

If you keep going at this rate you'll have disappeared completely by summer.

What's your eventual target? Also how tall are you? Do you consider yourself fat at all?

Are you expecting to lose and maintain that loss or do you cycle between dieting and enjoying yourself?

I had a very unhealthy December and put on a stone. Before that was maintaining at 14 stone.
Usually for me it would be 6 or 7 lbs first week, obv a lot of water loss etc but I didn't eat as clean as I could of done.
I was 13st 10 when I last went on hols, so that is the target. Once back from hols will be concentrating on strength work

Thinking of doing a programme similar to yours i.e. low weights and take it slow. Not lifted anything decent for some time and don't wanna overdo it and get injured
