Oh, I forgot. If you wanna share my early morning Media Centre hospitality & facilities, DO NOT SPEAK TO ME.

In the mornings, whilst writing & stuff, I do not do talk, in fact, I'm inclined to be almost grumpy.

So if you like small talk, you can fu** right off. *

* small talk in no way refers to your height.

Aye, I can see pads wanting to chat about concrete, Vegas constructions and super trains at 7 in the morning.

Exactly.

Based on what you've said Pads - surely the Gold Coast at c£48 a night is the best option and I am sure the bod would have some voucher deal. I've never stepped foot in the place, it is full of pensioners - however Mike and Padraig are staying there; you can walk to Rio and like a $10 can to Venetian. Based in what you've said you'll just be sleeping. It can't be worse than Circus Circus and your one doorstep of one of your two venues.

Of nobodies been recently happy to have a reccy of DaBookies room and give you some feedback

He could even stay at The Rio, as I do, every year. Don't all shout at me at once, but if you are there for poker poker poker, it's just fine, imo.

I do think we get a bit snobbish about Vegas hotels at times. Those of us who grew up on the other side of the street, in the real world, & spent half our working lives in Travelodges, Premier Inns, Days Inns & the like think the Rio is 5 bloody star, we really do. And a suite at The Rio is cheaper per night than a room at a Travelodge in the UK.

Gold Coast is good, too, very cheap & a good brekkie, nice & close to Rio for WSOP stuff.

Really? Isnt Rio like $200 a night and travel lodge £30?

I think the average rate per night at The Rio is around $70, or that is what mine always costs, & that includes across the EDT period, though I do get Media Rate. Most Travelodge rooms in the UK are around £50, more in London.

The coffee bar by the lifts to the Masquerade Tower has the biggest chocolate eclairs in the world, bar none.

Not sure what side of the street I came from then ,when I started working away from home home it was the sea view guest house 10£ a night b&b ,no such thing as premier inns n travel lodges , with bizarre rules pinned up everywhere like
Take your boots off before getting into bed
No smoking in the toilet
No guests in the room after 10 pm
Etc
I'm sure you've stayed in a few places like that tikay ?

1/2 the trip in Harrahs and the other half at Gold Coast/Palms (Place)/Rio will do the trick. You definitely don't want to be doing a month in 1 a casino, change of scene will be nice. That is unless you do the lot down at Palms Place.

I'll sort it out with the best promo codes when I get back from dropping my parents at train station, and then I'll go over it all on Skype with you Pads  thumbs up

Ok I'm going to work on the basis that it's best to spend the 2nd 1/2 of your trip nearer to the Rio. Mainly because you have 5 WSOP events in the first 1/2, and 6 including the main in the 2nd half which will hopefully involve travelling back and forth for a week!

Harrahs 17th-28th June (IHHL5) = $769.6 +$198 resort fees +$116 taxes = $1084/£708 (@ Travelex buy rates)

Same deal is £630 with Expedia, but doesn't include the resort fees which brings it out at £760.

So it seems direct is the way to go, it also means if you have a random roulette/blackjack put one night some comps might be given Wink

Go here https://www.harrahs.com/

Enter this IHHL5 into the Promo/Package Code and you'll get the above rates.

It's possible that you can get the resort fee taken off upon checking in, but I'm not 100% sure on that. Your best bet is to just insist you need none of the services offered, so you would like it removed.

Best I have found for the Rio 28th June-10th July  is £1k via Expedia, but again you have 12 nights @ $18 to add on to this.

Gold Coast Jun 28th - July 10th is coming out @ $860 including tax, so with the $3 a night resort fee you'll be looking at $900/£588
