Do Dennys still do good stuff?  Quite enjoyed their wings when I was in the US last, not for breakfast mind. IHOP was pretty good too.

No help I know, just reminiscing and wanting another trip

Can you get discounted Cirque tickets in Vegas?  Looking online and the one the Mrs wants to see is about £120 per ticket!

Which show is it?  For one of the new ones, prolly not going to get discount.  For the older ones, they usually have some availability in the half price ticket booths (usually not great seats)  Vegas locals often have 2for1 deals for CDS too, so if you get talking at the tables, one of them might be prepared to buy you tickets on his ID for a drink.  SmarterVegas also has some discounts, not sure what they have on offer.

And as for fry-ups, I don't know of a genuine Sid's Cafe type place where you are going to get the real mccoy.  Probably easiest to just hit a 5* buffet for brekkie and put together what you can.  You aren't going to find beans or black pud, but it might satisfy the craving.

It is also the nut CdS. Definitely worth seeing once.

Warning: it is very, VERY French.

Website is pretty good.

http://www.bellagio.com/o-cirque-du-soleil/o-cirque-du-soleil.aspx

Click on seating chart.
Click on section (e.g. 203) on the chart.
It shows you what your view will be like from that seat.

As with usual CDS, there's a ton of stuff to take in, and assuming no sight impairments, I think section 203 is better (and cheaper) than section 103.

And as for the price, well it may sound a lot, but you will be living a charmed life out there if you don't rip up $300 in much worse circumstances at some point during the trip....

when Simon and Mark post in this thread I get a little excited!

lol know what you mean.

Cheers Si, I'll show the Mrs that site.  We've seen a few before and love them.  Appreciate what you mean about being up a level, we were up at the RAH last time we saw them and you see different things, plus you don't get neck ache from constantly looking up from the lower levels.

Looks like I may get to pop into Vegas this year afterall.   Thinking about using my miles for a holiday for my daughter, Mrs and myself.  Was going to go to SF as we have friends there, but the flights are all booked, but Vegas you can get too.  Thinking of doing a 10 day trip flying into and out of Vegas, spending a couple of nights there, then off to SF via Yosemite/Kings then heading down the coast to LA before heading back to Vegas.  Quite a bit to do in 10 days but we've done most of it over there before so it's not an issue spending lots of days in national parks etc and I like the driving so don't mind putting the miles in in a short period rather than spending an night over in some places (not that it's that far).  This'll get me in the good books and I may get to go purely for Vegas poker next time.  Mind you she's said I can go this time, I just can't come back Cheesy

I'm entitled to a companion flight and some upgrades to PE.  I'm guessing I can't use them in the sale and can only use one companion flight per "paying" passenger so it maybe prudent to wait until after the sale.  That would suit me more tbh as I'm short 6002 miles!  Just lol at the 2, are they likely to let me off them?  Annoying thing is when my next statement comes in, I'll probably have them!    Pretty pleased to be using the miles up, I know you have to pay taxes but it's still just under a grand for the three of us to get to Vegas but it's pretty much that to get us to Spain/Cyprus/Canaries for a European holiday anyway.  Will phone them tomorrow and see what they can do for me, I take it they're pretty helpful on the phone?

Anyway, I ramble on,

You will always get some HelpDesk variance on these things, so there's only one way to find out imo!!  Ring, you get a great person and they help you out and cut you a break.  4 seconds later, you would have got a jobsworth and no dice.

Trip sounds great imo.

Phoned up today and got an ever so helpful chap who ran through the various options.  The sale offer was the best and I couldn't use a companion flight or the PE upgrades.  Apparently the companion is with a full paying ticket and the PE seats were all gone, and as I was 6002 miles short, had to buy the 7000!  He did apologies that they couldn't be flexible on the miles but tbh I'm not letting £120 get in the way of a nice holiday!  The plus side is that I'm all booked in Cheesy  3 of us flying to Vegas for nearly two weeks, happy times.

Booked O, had to phone up but managed to get block 203, thanks Simon, looks a great place to sit.

Any child friendly hotels anyone can recommend?  We're only in Vegas for one night initially, then the last two nights of our trip so were not too fussy but could use a child friendly recommendation.

For only 1 or 2 nights just get the best hotel/location for your budget.
If you are looking for things to do for kids give me the ages and we can give you some ideas on things to do

Cheers, she's 9, I'm thinking pool, shopping etc. We've Cirque booked for one of the nights and given I could have gone on another holiday for what the tickets costs, cheapish recommendations for stuff for the other two would be appreciated.  That said I'm sure I'll find out by surfing about and I'm hoping to sneek off for some poker, perhaps a spa for the mrs and daughter !  Like you said, it's only a couple of nights so we don't have to get settled in too much.

Probably the best activity is the Adventuredome at circuscircus. Basically it's an indoor theme park, with plenty of rides for all ages. Cost about $20 for all day, unlimited rides.
Also have the midway fair above the casino floor, which offers cheap fairground games and free circus acts every hour.
The hotel is a dive so defo do not stay there but a great days entertainment for kids.

Newyork newyork have a smaller games/fair area based on Coney island, excalibur also has a games dungeon.
