Sinattra's at the Wynn/Encore is good for upper end Italian and a good wine list.

Hugos cellar for a more budget steak downtown at the 4 queens is pretty good value if you venture off the main strip.

For good quality Chinese food at a reasonable price go to Zine at the Pallazo and Noodles at Bellagio.

I'm back & had a good time, but going on my gripes about the hotel, not sure what to think of how they handled it.

My alarm clock in the room was going off at silly hours & it got sorted after a few days, blinds open daily at 8.00 am, this never got sorted & I complained daily. They removed all the resort fees ($224) and credited me with a $25 dining credit, then a $75 one after these blinds was once again not sorted. Still after days and approaching the last days of my stay I went down and told them I was very disappointed about the situation with the blinds, they still was not sorted & I spoke to the manager and she wanted to do something for me & I replied with "I really don't think there is much more you can do, I don't want any more dining credit" she asked about the changing rooms & I said no as I didn't have long left on the stay.

Anyway as I checked out the manager came over to tell me tell me they was going to get in touch with Expedia and see if they could refund me 4 days of my stay with them.

Now I am stuck what to think of them, they really did do nice things, but the whole situation with the room was beyond frustrating. The rooms are nice, the hotel is nice & whatever, but very frustrating at times, not sure if I would stay there again though!

They must be mortified.

To spin it around, what do you think they should have done for you?  They'd returned your resort fees, dining credit (they are MGM so I assume that means you can use it anywhere within group as Vdara has very few options as you will know) and offered to change rooms (I'm sure they would have upgraded the room and I'm sure they'd have sent someone up to pack for you)  As you refused all of that, but still wanted to complain, they are trying to refund via a 3rd party, which I assume is much more costly/awkward to them than if you had booked direct.

If you will accept that sometimes mechanical things such as drapes/blinds will have faults, and sometimes those faults aren't easy fixes (maintenance man can't resolve or they need to order parts) I'm at a loss to work out what else the hotel could do?

It was more to the point that every day I complained & promised it was sorted, time after time they said it had been sorted, so  it was annoying. I didn't know what they could do tbh, but the fact at the end of the stay they did say they would get in touch with Expedia & they did refund resort fees along with dining credit, made me think they was trying their best to sort it. I suppose it was such a shame for such a nice hotel. One thing in Vegas you don't want to be is sleep deprived, but because of this it did get to me.

Maybe I was unlucky with room selection! But I did ask before I came to be facing bellagio Sad

Had a view of B. fountains in my suite, must admit it got boring after the 19th day of the fountain show Cheesy

Well done on getting refunds though!

Vdara knew what they were doing, and just played the long game...

Throw him a few bones, but make sure he doesn't come back Wink

I hear they are going to track you down marky because of all the advice that you gave Aaron before his visit!

I'll be in a complimentary penthouse at any one of the properties which swerved Aaron as a guest Grin
