only green listed for travel/leisure according to bbc news tonight, so amber isnt an option?
Seen a few ppl say that, but many saying travel for amber is fine if you're willing to do the quarantine/testing etc.
Just have to go through the protocols, and obv want to have adequate insurance.

Can go wherever in the world you want, no matter the colour, as they as that Country is accepting tourists and you comply with the testing and quarantine on return. Unlikely if travel insurance will cover you though.
We have flights to USA for end of May, booked last year. Theoretically we could go, but won't be doing it without adequate insurance

I'm checking with my insurance if they'll cover for Amber, and if not, will take another policy out.

So we can go to America ?
But will they let us in at the moment for something as frivolous as a holiday ?

They won't let you out for something as frivolous as a holiday.
It's essential travel only for amber list.

Scrap that. I'd scan read something and was still looking at the advice up to 17th May
Think they still don't want you to go. Will be interesting to see what the insurance companies think about it.

We can go, if Broseph rescinds the border closure.
You'll need additional insurance, though.
I checked and it's only a score to add travelling against FCDO advice to my existing policy.
As long as you're prepared to do the testing/quarantine, you can go where you want.
We also need planes

All June Vegas flights no longer bookable, so presume we'll get a notification of cancellation soon.

My WhatsApp message about move it to next June got nowhere
I got bombarded with texts
Finally a link to request to move /swap our flights which I filled on
A day later I got this reply offering me to cancel and receive a voucher
I’m guessing if THEY cancel I can get a refund?
Hello Tony
Thank you for contacting us to rebook your travel that has been impacted by the COVID-19 travel restrictions.
We release our flights 331 days in advance so we are unable to rebook your flights just yet.
You can either select a date within system range, which is currently up to 5th April 2022 or for extra flexibility you can opt in for a travel voucher, allowing you to rebook for a later date; subject to terms and conditions.
Please click here to opt for a travel voucher
But the daily mail stated the obvious today that if flights don’t resume soon virgin will be struggling financially and looking for another share holder rights issue
Which is a big worry as I don’t know how long chapter 75 credit card refund is valid for ? Does anyone know please ? Bear in mind it was a booking from august 2019

I’m thinking of getting a refund for June
Banking my miles
Then our September booking assuming we can go by then
will mainly be in Vegas and 11 days in Vegas and 19 days in Boston will become 26/7 days in Vegas and 2-3 days in Boston

At this moment in time, only those people that fall into one of these categories can travel to the US
1. US Passport holder
2. Green Card Holder
3. Spouse of one of the above
4. Parent of a US citizen
5. A person travelling for Government/Diplomatic reasons & in possession of the appropriate visa in the passport
6. Professional sports-people (e.g. Billy Joe Saunders & crew for his fight)
All but the first two categories will usually require the attendance of an official from Homeland Security to give the final sign-off.
There is no estimate on when these restrictions will end. It's all speculation.
Hope this helps.

From what I've read it's 120 days from when you first notice a problem.
The Company is still solvent so at the moment it's pretty safe to say there isn't a problem.
Be pretty disappointing if they do go tits up though. I'm sitting on 450k miles at the moment with another 270k tied up in booked flights for me and Hopkin.
Would be a crap to lose those.

US just dropped UK to level 3, from level 4, too.
Which basically makes us 'amber' if you compare to ours, as opposed to 'do not travel' which was level 4.

E mail responses from virgin .
Basically I asked about a refund for 08 June flight
Good Morning,
We can certainly get this done for you here. As this is a full mileage booking you would get all your miles back plus taxes, minus a £30 admin fee per person.
Let me know if you wish to go ahead.
Thank you
Benjamin Williams
Then I asked .what if I wait till you cancel ?
Tony it’s as if you read my mind. Since miles tickets can be cancelled up to 24hrs before departure and still get everything back, you might as well wait closer to departure to see if we cancel the flight. If we do you can then have the full refund ( no admin fee) or you can rebook free of charge for a future flight.
Thanks
Benjamin Williams
