One of my extended work colleagues has asked me about clubs in Nottingham, I pretty much never make it past the pubs in Hockley so have no clue. Can anyone give me an idea where a bunch of 30 something blokes wouldn't be out of place? Thought Tantra was ok last time I went but that was 6 months ago, anywhere else decent?

The other problem you'll have is finding places that will let a group of blokes in.

Def this, we really sruggled!

We got lucky in that we spent the day in P&P and tipped the waitresses well. P&P let us back into the VIP bit at the back, but it was good fortune more than good planning

Are many of the pubs like that?

I think it depends, I was once turned away from a Wetherspoons because they were only letting in women and couples... Generally pubs are OK, but bars can be an issue.

Oceana cater for stag dos but I'm not sure if I'd class it as good...

My mate rang Oceana to arrange entry, so it's probably best to do that with your chosen venue - you'll know in advance whether you can get in or not and no need to try and split up or whatever.

Why don't you go somewhere decent instead?

Can't see you having problems getting in to most places. Nottingham's dead at the moment so they'll most likely drag you in rather than kick you out.

Have fun Smiley

Best bet would be the Approach http://www.theapproachnottingham.com/index.asp. Live music, decent crowd, can't see a problem with a bunch of blokes getting in.

If they ring ahead I think the place is pretty accommodating.

It's just off the market square so there's plenty of other pubs to do before there.

There's a strip club a few doors away as well although it's not very good imo. It's the only one in Nottingham though so I guess it's as good as they're gonna get.

My Stag night in Nottingham (2002) was Hooters then Jongluers which has been replaced by Glee comedy Club.

Great night.
