Damn. There was me thinking we'd finally seen the last of him only to find myself, quite frankly, smacked in the face with a wet kipper with the news of his appointment at the club where I will no doubt soon be spending half my life.

Just kidding Wink All best Rob. No flirting with the nurses mate.

Well I certainly wish Nightfly well, likewise Rob Yong's new club.

But lets not forget Gala, where we have had such good times, (and a few bad ones) & where so many of us have learnt what skills at poker we do possess, then gone out on the road & done our thing.

Peeps like Thewy, Junior, Chris Bruce, bookiebasher, Chili, Greek Jack, Anthony Nicholls, Peter Costa, and many, many more.

I will be a regular at Rob's new place, I will, but I will STILL be a regular at Gala too, as will many others.

So my message to Gala is this. Nightfly's communication skills, via th blonde Forum, have done tremendous good for Gala, AND for poker generally.

So, please try & get Nightfly's replacement to do the same thing. We NEED Cardroom Managers to get their message across, & we hope that blonde is the medium they use.

blonde are with Rob Yong all the way - but that does NOT mean we are in any way anti-Gala. We have always been pro-Gala, & intend to remain so.

It's entirely possible to support both.

Rob Yong is, quite correctly & sensibly, getting his message across via blonde, Gala must continue to do the same. In that respect, Nightfly was absolutely superb. Make sure you (Gala) get someone to do the same! Gala & Dusk till Dawn are entirely different products, and there is ample room for both. And competition is a GOOD thing.

Good post Tikay.

Although, I feel it would be inappropraite for me to vist Gala as the bottom line is that I have nicked their Card Room Manager, and I wouldn't feel right going there and using there facilities. I approached Rob, he did not come to me.

I really hope that Gala does well, as this will be good for poker in the midlands, and I will be writing a letter to the Manager to explain that we will be bringing many players into nottingham to play poker, but who may also want to play some blackjack and roulette, and I would like to be able to refer them to Gala rather than the 2 new casionos being set up, Stanley and London Clubs International.

Good Post Rob, & yes, your Gala days are pretty much over, sadly, but that's the price you pay to live the dream.

And to the list of stonking good players to have emerged fom Gala Notts recently, I should have added Rob Yong! And Smithers.

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.

A quick post to let you all know that Rob's fine.  He had the operation this afternoon and seems to be in quite good spirits (morphine is a wonderful thing).  He should be home on Thursday (hopefully) and then the nurse will come and change his dressings etc.

Thank you for all your posts - I know Rob appreciates it and I'm sure he'll be posting on here within minutes of getting home  Roll Eyes

I'll keep you updated should anything change,
