Hi John, enjoy reading your diary good luck for the new years.
Thanks bro... you too.
So first session with the 'ubercoach' that is Justinsayne - Callum.
We did a W.
There was a lot more stealing than usual, in fact there were comedy quotes such as:-
"You just did everything wrong..."
"what do you mean, on which table?" (after having folded for 20 seconds, probably about 15-25 hands... lots of J7o, 105ss etc etc...
"All of those hands should have been opens, we had the button and the SB a lot.."
"if you fold K9ss again I'm going to punch you in the head..."
"Lets open the old K and a K here.... you folded WHAT??"
(misclick.. now using beta buttons to fold or bet using just the mouse - its really sexy!)
"What are you doing not opening
??"
"it can't make a pair or a straight or a good hand..."
"yeah it can, flop it an win obviously"
There were definitely some things I didn't agree with, we agreed to disagree about opening pairs UTG because neither of us are winners with 22-66 utg so pleno wins on that one - FOLD.
I understand about all the 'extra' moneys we win just by stealing preflop.. and the key part of this is obviously due to not blowing up postflop... there was a lot more 'giving up' than i expected. Only one triple and that was on a QxxKx runout when a guy limp/called UTG pre vs our BB open with AJ.
Other than that, we won some nice pots, flopped some sets and had AA a bunch.
Ran good clearly but didn't make any mistakes in any pots... biggest loss was when we 3bt AJ CO vs HJ pre, and cbet/click KJxdd when 300bb deep... he just 4bt jammed flop - #wpsir
Going to sweat him for a bit now, he said he was going to wait till $5k before taking shots at 200nl but this morning he woke up, got a red bull and went for a 3bi shot.
[ ] went well.
[X] won it all back instantly at 100nl
[X] ez game
a particularly stingy brag for me was when he said "It's just ridiculous how bad everyone is at 100nl, i might just stay here and make money forever...." fml

Just remembered the best quote..
"what's going on here..? Who are you? Oh... He's Russian, well I've never seen a Russian have a value hand, ever. So, im not folding!"
This was with KQo CO on Kxx vs a SB flat pre and Cr massive/ overshove x turn.
[X] Russian had us beat.

as i understand it, anyone that expects him to have AK here isn't very good at poker.

Happy new year all!
Got very drunk, was exceedingly silly, and managed to drop my phone in a toilet after flushing... And I've run good, its working again already.
So pumped for the potential 2013 has.

ha ha. My wife dropped her iPhone 4S in the bath and no sign of life after a few days.
I was due an upgrade on that account and got her an iphone5 the next day.
The most amazing thing was when she set up the new phone I found out that the
had sent all her information to iCloud. Within seconds her new phone is set up with all her contacts, apps tones, pictures and even knew which screen savers and passwords she was using. Pretty clever this technology

Wide awake even thought I was smashed and still up at 5am, my body is messed up atm.
Completely up for the grind though, Callum has properly reignighted it after all my live pokers this month.
legooo
So, I'm grinding and hopefully going to be more successful with a higher steal rate as he suggested, main thing is not blowing postflop. Running a little bad already, lost with Q10 vs 108hh on J89hh and AK vs QQ pre.

I saw Abe Moseiri in a game in L.A once with the most gangster chip stack you've ever seen - the main base of it was a 14 stack pyramid of $5k chips ($1.4m) and behind it were 40x $1k stacks and he had 4 $50k bricks just rofling about behind the whole thing as well honestly the coolest thing i ever seen
