I think you need to prove that you have the emotional control and the discipline to play full time before you even consider it.

completely fair and obviously sensible.

My plan, to myself... is to prove this as I gain the necessary ££'s required before I even consider it.

Firstly to grind to a minimum of 100nl, would rather be at 100 and 200nl with appropriate rolls and by that time - an income for pleno and I from that.

Then with live mixed in and the roll developing, the odd live thing here or there... a bink would help - but I actually think if I for example 'binked the monte at DTD' it would possibly be one of the worse things that could happen for me longterm.

Sounds crazy I'm sure, but i know it would take a LOT of discipline and help from my friends to not do anything silly if I had a £40k roll spare after paying off the mortgage.

I have a few weeks to smash the online game while here, and its good for me because I'm behind GMT so for me I can play in the 'best games' when its a more convenient and work friendly time.

off for food and drinks in a TGI's.... could get messy!

Pads as you move up the levels your game has to change and develop to be able to beat these games.

Also would training videos about one level made 12 months ago still be relevant today in the fast moving world of poker or as the standard is getting better and better this filters down the levels and we might At what point does basic poker theory of starting with good cards & making big hands get paid change and more advanced strategies need to be applied to make money..... People keep telling John to crush 10nl with basic stuff but generally say that 100nl is a very decent level and hard to beat so assume you have to do some of the stuff John is trying out at the lower limits.
be able to say to beat a certain level today you would have to look at old training videos a couple of levels above.

Lots to answer but would appreciate the time taken

Yo,

Even at 10nl you should be doing things different than just "waiting for good cards" but when you do get your good cards you should play pretty straight forward, check out the video I linked on the last page, its me playing micros and playing really really ool, but when I have a good hand, I generally play pretty face-up and take value lines, you can make so many more bluffs at micros, simply because villains can't hand read, at 200nl its sometimes hard to bluff as they are just going to say, nah doesn't make sense, I call. But at micros, they look at the pot size, your bet size and their hand strength, if you knwo their hand strength is weakish then you can make overbets to make them fold, at 200nl people will just say "ah, my range is capped, I have a bluffcatcher, I have to call"

For small stakes, yes very much so and basically always will, for mid stakes, videos from like 2 years ago are probably going to be pretty bad. For example the main thing is people always used to defend so little, so in videos like 2 years ago people would defend really tight and that would be bad advice.

100nl isn't really a decent limit, its full of people who are generally just awful awful regs, but play v tight so its hard to win a lot vs them, or so it seems, you can exploit these guys so bad and really win a lot.

Had an absolutely mega night out last night.. (thur) not sure if I'm going to do a full blog about it.

cliffs included
meal turned into a night out because of blue fishbowls
night out in town few bars
first strip club not open
death/rape street walk...
second strip club open
cost $$ to see not a lot...
you can pay by 30mins slots though

Cheesy

anyways, grinding tonight and doing it in!

Been behind whole session.. and even had a fun... steady grind back to close to zero

When -

Wait for it...

We raise/4bttoinduce/snap/lose JJ vs Q9o for 150bbs

Then obv on the other table insta get in KK vs AA on Jxxx... in a 4bt pot.

Back in hole!

feels warm in here.

So grinding out again.. think in total im like 2.5bi's behind.. but its fine.  It's friday and theres still an hour or so of play.  Maybe more..

Having a break atm, have a couple of 200bb+ stacks and one 550bb stack, would be nice to double there!

played some candy crush (fb game) to chill and smashed a few levels up.  It's strange how I just 'see' whats going to happen in those things.

Guess thats the part of my brain that works pretty quickly, always been a shapes and puzzle kinda person.

Back to the grind, the mega stacks have gone due to time out...

Also - found run it twice on stars, so going to have that put on now, only thing it will do is make sure when I'm getting in JJ vs KK every few orbits, they dont lose so much vs me.

Sick grind!

Was in a hole for so long........ just hand after hand after hand i couldn't get paid with real hands, and ran into nuttier hands a chunk.

However, cos I'm a mini micros beast! I of course kept the head down (hoody up) and got my little feet moving.  Finished +2bi's with a very aggressive last hour.  I was playing a lot of pots pre, mainly because all the decent regs seemed to have gone to sleep, there was one or two of the remainders trying to adjust to me.

but i managed to make them regret it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Best of these was the following hand - most proud value bet otr.  Just knew where I was.

Open EP, I peel CO with 22 and get peeled by BTN (someone who's trying to adjust to me - so far doing a decent job tbh)

FLOP
3 ways
Two Diamonds three diamonds

EP cbets, and we take a few seconds then click the cawl button, X peels behind.

TURN

EP checks, we bet 4.60 into 7.50 and get a cawl behind from X.

RIVER

Now this is the interesting bit, I think X seems decent, even good.  And as such I just dont think he has many made hands ott that will like this card...
tough to have 33,
tougher to have 99 imo

However, what he can call on the turn, quite comfortably multiway.... is all those pretty diamond draws...
makes sense
- peel sooted cards IP pre
- peel flopped draw multiway
- peel turn vs spazzy reg (me) who may cf brick rivers anyways..

But I can't be certain he will bet it... I've seen way too many people check back flushes on this type of board, its probably not even a good bet vs me here.

And I know he will never bluff raise me here as I'm fairly sure he probably thinks I'm bad enough to bet 9x ott.

So I bet half pot with the UNDERHOUSE... 22 on 92339....

And get snapped.

I win, thank you, come again and please bring that ownage t-shirt back with you so I can redate it then! Cheesy

He proceeded to then get KK vs my AK vs AQ of someone else for a buyin and we did not spike... so think he got most back.. but still!
gtfo my house!

Other than that, really happy with my mentality through the session, just peaceful music on (the XX a bunch of vids) then some relaxing chilled clubbing mixes for the last 90 mins to get me through that 'early morning' feeling.

Well chuffed with the result and reckon the HEM graph will be impressive, I'm going to guess I actually ran below EV overall, but thats mainly because I think I lost every pot I had the worst hand with....

oh except one small 45bb aipf with 44 vs KK.

Got running it twice on as well now, seems decent.

peace out

(Candy saga pre bed for a wind down me thinks)

Just realised something..

its not +2bi's, its +2bi's after recovering yesterdays loss.  Which means today is something in the order of a +5bi day after being in a 3-4bi hole the whole session.

Ha ha. Bet level 65 of candy crush takes you a bit and level 134 is impossible.

Do you ever see any local ladies (paid or unpaid) whilst on your trips?

Oh I don't actually play candy crust but see Sunni and others moaning about it.

Never paid for any ladies directly....
However some guys have said its a laugh when applied properly.  I do like strip clubs tho, and better yet is pulling on a night out and getting her to strip for you! Cheesy

As long as you declare everything when asked the office don't mind much as I have no wife or dependants.

I'll get through those levels, turns out that the most delaying part of candy crush so far is when I had to get '3friends' to help me acrosss the river.

first of all thanks to Pads for the reply. Food for thought.

Good news JB is that the live cash game got a bit of a grilling for its nitty ness last night. Cash game supermo Tom (used to prefer the bird that organised them) has said they might do one for blonde regs.... I put Dreenie forward but thinking about it I think you would be an ideal candidate too. That's if the cameras don't put you off, being the shy insecure type Smiley

classic JB line <3.

Was pretty funny reading the hand where you said you make a sick river value bet that you were really proud of and it started with 22 on 923 Cheesy then 3 turn Cheesy, granted the river was a bad card, but was a funny sweat for the readers Cheesy
