Hey guys, great reading the hand histories/thought process and the analysis from various mentors.
Have been taking notes of the comments and been implimenting them as much as i can in my game (5p/10p) and i can see how it makes sense but like John, because the stake is low in comparison to what u can actually buy for it (10p dont even get u 10 penny chews nowadays) i also find myself 'wandering' from the game plan .
also find it frustrating when play well for hours and get beat when u finally get it al in pre with dem aces and BOOM the fuckos outdraw u. keep up good work and keep reporting , gl

I'd suggest that you pick up a copy of flopzilla or a similar program that will let you look at combinatorics. On these really wet boards when all of the draws complete, the number of combos of one pair hands that are actually calling these big river jams (even if it is true that he calls 3rd pair or better, which I'm very sceptical about btw) is definitely lower than the number of flush draw/straight draw/better 2pr combos that are never folding.
I know that you're mainly talking about one specific guy in that post and maybe he really doesn't ever fold a pair but that read has to be absolutely nailed on 100% for you to make plays like this. You are giving yourself absolutely no margin for error with these plays because he needs to be calling soooo wide for it to be +EV and once you start taking out some of those worse 1pr combos from he calling range, these size bets on these boards started to become a money pyre!
this was definitely the case.

And its bloody boring being a nit, waiting to cooler people.
lol doesn't really sound like you're too excited about getting on the TAG train
You're absolutely not just waiting to cooler people, you're just exploiting people tendencies at 10NL which are to call too much by having stronger ranges than them. Sounds like a good idea right?
I'm on the train, just hard to do sometimes.
I know i need to have stronger hands in my ranges but surely trying to do 'stuff' vs regs should be a good idea since they 'should' be straightforward in many ways... no?

I wouldn't normally try so hard, but didn't have another opportunity I could wait for. I wasn't ready to surrender what I WANTED SO MUCH, that easily, I couldn't guarantee a call with me staying stoic and relying on a flinch "top pair" calling reflex.

Yeah people like to get their knickers in a twists about playing vs other regs but the truth is that the vast majority of your money is going to come from fish. People that I've coached say stuff all the time like 'I know how to play against fish, but I want to get better playing against regs'
Unless the ratio of fish to 'regs' has changed drastically recently the vast majority of your opponents will be fish, so increasing your winrate vs fish is going to improve your winrate a lot more than increasing your winrate vs regs

This, more positivity!!!!!
also, i do wonder why anyone would continue to play 25nl after 100k hands winning... anyone else know?
There are a couple of players over 500k hands and winning $2k+.. which is a lot of bi's... are they just bots or people trying/ living off 25nl?

semi-tilting session...
finished almost exactly level apparently... and somehow HEM thinks we ran good, despite having some sick runouts and horrible spots... some people doing mental stuff with stupid hands...
and on top of that.. of course the guy that's playing back at me happens to have a set when he's opened EP on Q26cc or someshit when we gots Axcc... what a joke.
I know i made a bunch of mistakes.. i know the session should've been a win.
I'm going to examine it and the last few sessions for an hour tomorrow before i play, if i play. Might go into town and get a shisha with a work colleague.
I'm clearly still making easy mistakes even though i feel like im playing like a super nit, having said that i made some nice big bluffs in spots where my opponent was repping nada and we are uncapped.. vs reg-ish players.
Having looked at the top winning 50 players on ptr, im more likely to avoid them nowadays and like DM says, aim for the noobs.
best of luck... so tired and gota be up in like 6 hours. sigh.
(charlene is coming out wednesday sometime.. hoping she can double handedly repair morale and make everything ok!
- thin i know)

Is that rhetorical, Jack?
Many players rise to their level of incompetennce where they then lose their money. Others, finding a level they can beat, stay there, & quietly accumulate money, because they feel it better to win a little than lose a lot.

So just had a pretty sweet night in xxxx, went out with one of the trainees on the team i'm working with and we went in search of a shisha and kebab!
We got the tram into town and found a shisa place we'd seen the night before, and after some pretty terribly slow service we got our shisha and ordered some kofta kebabs, rice and salad... happy days.
few hours later and we're both pretty nackered, wasted (kinda) and just chilling with our empty plates and second 'apple' coal on the shisha.
Gooooood times.
Then in the middle of the red light district it obviously starts raining and we are dodging between sex shop, brothel and bars... we go for a wander to see what's around that area but eventually get fed up and i was still feeling a little 'almost sick' from the smoke. (i don't/ haven't smoked like ever)
Then just as we're getting back to main road I obviously see 'Ayasofya kebabs' and having been to the real Ayasofya in Istanbul I smelled the sweet smell of awesoeness and despite not even being hungry obv went in for a quick kebab wrap with fries.
GOOOOOOOD TIMES!
hop on the tram and back to the hotel.
sweet night overall and more to come.
C will be here in a day or so and we're going to have a sweet time over my bday (25th) while working around it a bit.
that is all..
nn
Also, lost one big hand in a small session today... is this standard?
