accidentally folded AA pre when i 'timed' out while waiting for hud to load to work out whether to squeeze UTG+1 or not... eugh!

lol, just raise?

people don't play back/ call much vs a UTG raise and UTG +1 reraise..

need to see if there are squeezers behind to make the most 'optimal' play...

I can tell you for a fact that raising is more optimal than folding

Oh really?

We try...

Playing a 'monthly' freeze @ Aspers Northampton tonight.. £75/ 40min/ 15k.. should be 'soft' relatively so going to give a it a go.

Gotta build a live br somehow.

obv just come back for nighttime grinding if we bust, and then I'm going to use the £150 ticket i already have and Nicola/ Alex are giving me a prod to use for DTD's tourny tomorrow... kinda last attempts at live binkage for a while i think.

Just spent the last couple of hours chilling after work getting massaged by C while I watch WSOP ME 2012 on her ipad.  Rubbish life sometimes.. Cheesy

save the 150 for 2 weeks time for the deepstack surely?

Not 100% i can play it.. hoping to play the 500 deep but we will see.

Be interesting to see if Rob Y did put any notes on my account after my comments on blonde previously.  I haven't been to DTD since.. so could be an interesting welcome.

Aspers £75 monthly deepstack - Northampton 21 09 2012

Played really well in tonights £75 @ aspers, crushed when we were all deep in the first two levels.. got up to 22k from 15k pretty quickly and then just sat there, since I had a table full of nonfoldingrecreational players...  Couldn't find a value hand so just kept folding.

Then lose QQ vs 66 on 52526 which is a little gross vs an old man who cc, cc, crsmall... and I hate life when he does this on the river but since he's flatted AK pre before I can believe he will have 77-JJ here some % and he just over min'd it. - obv he'd just 'got there'.

Then I play super solid and just blind my way into 22-18bb status, not getting too aggro and getting about 6 reshoves through until i finally find AA otb and reshove again over a UTG open.  He somehow finds a fold with 77's while the whole table were willing him to call... shame.

Carry on and eventually get blinded down to 12bb's and we're just rocking the 'shove once an orbit' and then fold the rest for a while.  I maintained my 12bb's for a good level or so, which i was happy with.  Then find AK vs A3 aipf and get the much needed much waited for double.

To find   in the bb shortly after and raise over the 'older guy' (from QQ vs 66 hand) 's limp and a call from SB.  OG calls and SB folds...

  two spades or something similar..

I cbet 45% pot and he calls..

and I'm really not sure what to do here.. I have like 1.8:1 PSR with AA vs a limp/call of OG....

options -
bet big (all in)
bet small/ call
check evaluate and decide on his sizing (size = strength)

And I decide that shoving is horrible, but that checking to either decide/ shove seems pretty bad too... I just need to bet/sigh/call and hope to hit a spade.

So I do that (considering we started hand with like 21bb's) and he has the mighty   .

We do not hit.

12/24 and a bit meh.

Only really lost two pots, one was when an older guy check minraises 52526 otr and other is same dude calling and shoving on flush turn card..
Both times he had it, both times we're at the mid-top of our range
Really don't know if we can fold....

(interesting bit of info... he did showdown a 'bluff' I think when he cc, donk/call, shove A2o on A5J K J... so he's not always got it)
(also minor point and I don't know Mitch well enough really but tbh he looked like a 55yr old Mitch... and with his 'peeling any two, floating any three and hitting whatever was needed' I just loll'd as I shipped him my chips and said 'must be nice sir, good night')

Either way, going to bed as im a little tired and im going to get and give a massage while watching more WSOP ME 2012!

Value hand he can have??

He would have raised a 5 otf.. Never has a 2.

So literally the ONLY hand were beaten by is 66, KK, AA.
And we beat 77-JJ.

I dont like it but the sheer combinations is gross.

But he always has them.

he always has what?

He ALWAYS flats KK and AA pre? errr no... so he only has them some tiny % which means that I really only lose to one hand - 66. But he can think that 77-JJ are the 'best' hand here... and try to raise for value.

Since it doesn't look like I have much - raise, bet, bet, bet is a tough line for value as well.

What strak means is that it just isn't a spot where people are going to bluff you. You're very rarely going to have the best hand here.

Whenever you're facing a strange bet like this its always a good idea to ask yourself if villain is capable of bluffing in this spot. Bad players aren't recognising that its a dry board therefore its hard for you to have a big hand so they can get a great price on a bluff by minraising, he just doesn't want you to fold. It really is as simple as that.

yes dan, i know that.  What I'm saying is that if he gets to this river this way with JJ I can see him 'minraising' some %.

JJ is a good hand and the board is 52526... he has an overpair = raise.

I could probably count on the fingers of one hand the number of time I've seen random live players raise river with an overpair on a paired board.

Regardless of whether you guys are right or wrong, calling queens in this spot isn't gonna be one of john's major leaks. There will be more important things you should be picking on.
