Lovely day one at Luton.  I've mentioned it before next door but last year I really started to despise live poker.  Staring at 9 stony Ipod-ed faces not uttering a word and dealing with angle shooters for hours on end really made me lose the love for it.  However the starting table I had yesterday was tons of fun and reminded me of why I started playing poker many years ago.  Sharing a table with Red Dog, Trip5, Lottery Jim and many more Blonde, local and Sky was a great laugh, it really was a lot of fun.  So thanks guys for reminding me how this game should be played and good luck all for Day 2.

Love you long time Mr D-fish... Just rock-dog an ickle bit more Wink

Top banana table!!  Thanks all

Xx

Wow great result again Jules.

Just a bit. Note the winning hand.......

He got 2nd in the Friday sidey too, for £1,900. Not a bad weekend. The Monte Carlo last April, then the GUKPT, now this.

Mr Thew Sky does it again

Julian Thew of Team Sky Poker added another title to his impressive display of tournament victories, including an EPT and three GUKPT's, with victory in the third leg of the 2011-12 Sky Poker Tour in Luton this weekend. Julian beat 199 other runners to the title and the £11,200 first prize. With his win Julian shot to the lead of the new Sky Poker Tour Leaderboard, helped by a runners up finish in the £100 side event the night before the Main Event.

The 200 Main Event competitors produced a sell-out event, with many qualifying online on Sky Poker for as little as £5. Julian beat Sky Poker regular Shaun "Shaun 1972" Cook Heads Up when turning two pair with 8-2 on an Ace high board to outdraw Cook's Ace-Jack. Other cashers included SkyPoker analyst Carlo Citrone and renowned poker blogger Adam "Snoopy" Goulding.

The Sky Poker Tour now moves to dual events on 10th March, in Glasgow and Brighton. Satellite Qualification for these events begins later this week on www.skypoker.com

The very last hand of the night goes to Dewi James, who finds ACES and talks Raymond O’Mahoney into calling his all-in preflop bet of 15k.  “If I had AQ, I’d call!” says Dewi.  Raymond calls holding pocket 66’s.
