Only a very small (pence, not pounds) punter.....but thanks to some stunning tips on this thread, I have had 3 profitable days from Ascot so far this week.

"Anyway. The nap of the meeting runs tomorrow.

It ran a real eye catcher two races ago, travelling well and then getting hampered before flying home. He then ran in a race at Newmarket that I thought may have given the game away. Thankfully it looked more workmanlike than spectacular when ridden from the front, but he has shown all the right skills in the last two races to give me a great deal hope hope in what will probably be a bit of a bun fight.

Step up to 1.4miles looks ideal, and if Time Test wins earlier the form will look even better. It may mark a stampede on Dissolution who finished second that day, but I think Space Age is a far better horse.

Am in the WSOP Media Centre, watching the US Open golf "live", as it happens.

Are the greens as bad as they look, or is it just visual?

Just been reading the bookies trade press, they took a right pasting at Ascot today, but it was so nearly very much worse.

Apparently, "Kingfisher" was very unlucky in running, that would have made things far worse for them, and if Dissolution had won the last, that would have been a real blow for them.

It was reported that War Envoy went off at 10/1, but was 20/1 on the Exchanges - is that true?

Ryan on Kingfisher could not get out, french jockey held a course and kept him in and Kingfisher lost by under a length

Dissolution went off 5/4 (betvictor apparently had big liabilities running onto it from people rolling on Moore wins ) backed in from 4-1 through the afternoon

UK TV is saying they are better than they look. apparently double the slope of any other greens on the USPGA tour

it is completely still today, so the course seems beatable

they interviewed Mickelson whose perspective was it was "links to scale"

uk links courses haven't been updated so players are hitting irons off tees as it is short and narrow, bunkers haven't been repositioned for the modern game etc

this, designed in 2007, allows drivers off the tee and Mickelson said he loved the course as soon as he played it

he said his win at muirfield in 2013 where it was hard and firm stood him in good shape for this as length aside there are similarities
