Eurosport Home Nations coverage.
Is it just me, or is the shot replay transition aggravating the tits off anyone else?
Not as annoying at the commentary by, I think, Dave Hendon. He insists on filling every second with facts & stats, & will not permit any "dead air". It's snooker, a wonderfully visual game, & if Ronnie misses an easy black, we can see that for ourselves.
"And he's missed it".
There also seems to be an obsession with "average shot time". (How long, on average, to take a shot). When did that become interesting? Since when has snooker been a race against the clock?
By contrast, some of the expert commentators are very good, especially Neil Foulds.
First world problems I suppose.
An old post but I'll reply to it, because it's interesting.
The Emperor of Snookert, Mr Hearn decided a few years ago that players should take no longer than 30 seconds per shot.
There was even talk of docking rankings points for players who took longer.
What a nonsense.

Yan Bingtau has been suspended now following bans for several other Chinese players in the last couple of weeks.
Genuinely shocked.

I'm shocked too. I hope it isn't a knee-jerk ban, guilty until proven innocent.

This is all very sad, especially as to Liang Wenbo, Yan Bingtao and Zhao Xintong who are (were?) all exciting talents.

I could have this wrong, but the way I'm reading the situation Liang is the ringleader.

I love this new Chinese kid Si Jiahui - what a talent - a cue action to die for and such composure too.
They used to call me the kid back in the day..

Yes, he really is very special indeed, especially for a 20 year-old.

Those are some lengthy bans - lifetime for the two ringleaders which is probably what they deserve.

As the thread title says: give me a break.
Sean Murphy really needs a mute button - I'm starting to dread him being on comms.

Phil Taylor will take some beating.

Hopefully, over the years gone right off him.
Think I'd go Tiger Woods first. Messi due to the global size of his audience? Would definitely put Ronnie over Taylor.
