Sorry i was on my phone at a restaurant with friends, I got a text from a player who plays for Newcastle saying colo just announced to the team he's leaving and joining pardew at palace. Makes sense because he's sat out every pre season friendly so far. Not been announced captain and we've just signed a new centre half yesterday.
I actually haven't posted many "max" bets they've usually been optimistic nufc bets with big odds
or the long odds big brother bet etc
No worries Patrick, & thanks.
I do hope this comes across as intended, but the constructive point that needed making was that, to be a winning punter (& there are no exceptions to this rule) .....
NEVER EVER place or recommend a bet without knowing or stating the price.
To bet "price unseen" would be like playing poker without looking at our hole cards.
Of all the hundreds of lessons I've taken from Fred, after being a mug punter for 30+ years, this was easily the most important one
Imagine, say, Arsenal v Sunderland at The Emirates. Who we gonna back? The Arse, obv. but what if we were offered 100/1 Sunderland, who would we bet then?
Going back to the bet, Colo is a player who really impresses me, & if he goes to Palace, it bodes well for them, & not so well for NUFC, imo.
If Annette could do it I'm sure BITB could too
http://annetteobrestad.blogspot.co.uk/2007/12/annette-obrestad-blindno-look-at-cards.html
He probably could, yes. He could never be a profitable punter if he places bets without knowing the price though.
An odd aside. I interviewed Annette in Vegas this year, & it got more views than almost any of the 50 videos we released from Vegas this year. We interviewed Sam Trickett, Danny Negreanu, Jason Somervile, Jason Mercier & Shane Warne amongst others. The Annette interview received up to 10 times more views than the others, it even had 4 times as many views as the Lord Sir God Danny Negreanu one.
Who'd have thought?
The power of 2 plus 2 I think. Somebody started a thread on whatever happened to Annette there and somebody linked to your video. There was then a discussion about how hot she was, which is something that will always gather views! In addition it was a really good video, but most of them were.
I was pretty shocked how long ago that WSOPE was. Guess many of the current top young players hadn't even started playing back then.

Ahh, now it makes sense - I was not aware of that. God bless 2+2. Sometimes. A useful tip for the future, find a way to get those vids onto 2+2. Don't think I want to do it though, I'm not held in great affection on 2+2.
"how hot she was".....
Yuk. I still recall that dreadful one along similar lines about Vicky, never did I see a more offensive thread.
As to Annette, & something that would not have been visible in that video, but she has changed her body shape completely. No idea how, but she really is in very good shape these days.
I interviewed her straight after she won the WSOP-E, with Compo, think it was 2007. Doubt the video still exists, but I'll have a look, out of interest.
I like her very much. She ran bad with her choice of sponsors, though, FT, Lock etc.

I don't think the 2 plus 2 Annette thread was that bad at all, a lot of posters view her positively. Maybe I made it sound worse than it was. There was a massively positive one about Vicky after she withdrew from Stars. Some people are always going to say bad things about women and women poker players especially. I am fairly sure Annette stopped posting there when she was younger because of that. She was a more prickly character then though from my experience at the tables. But she was very young, and it is good to see her in a good place.

Oh yes, I had completely forgotten that. I could have won a goodly bet with you if my wits had been about me. It's astonishing how she has altered her appearance so.
We were, literally, 3 yards from her, & I spotted her, but Doobsy was adamant it was not her. Given my record, memory, & my dodgy eyes, I assumed he was correct.
I'm glad to hear there was a positive thread about Vicky on 2+2. I remember the other one vividly. It's probably an age thing, but discussing openly, in public, whether we would "give her one", & describing her physical attributes (or not) in very graphic & offensive terms, is something completely beyond my understanding. It seems something that only an autistic person would say or write, unaware of how offensive it is.
Anyway, let's find some winners. Apologies for the derail.

If any of those winners happen to be at doncaster, don't be shy.
Otherwise, I'll be standing at the parade ring, seeing which horses the connections are congregating around. I heard that's a great way to find winners.
