There has been some great needle between him and Johnson this week in the Studio.  Two proper alpha dogs with Gabby stuck in the middle.

If Rutherford had been in any other long jump era i reckon he might have sacked the long jump off and become a decathlete.  He has the perfect skill set and build for it imo.  He would pick up huge points in the sprints and jump events.  He looks stocky enough as well to cope with the power events as well.  Maybe he didn't fancy the pole vault!

Dont disagree with anything you say but rutherford and ennis were ringing endorsements of showing up and doing the best you can do and see if thats good enough (obv a fully fit ennis is a class act in any year, but she gets beat all ends up if KJT turns up in either of her big events here). The amount of british athletes in the past who couldnt do it when needed was so frustrating, in his own event that clown tomlinson used to qualify everytime with a medal performance, then couldnt break 8m in the final. Give me consistency over talent anyday. Ennis' score was piss poor, it was probably the worst hepthalon major champs ever held.

His PB is lol but in the distances above him theres more lols than not. Personally discount any north american stuff, always got these marks and never reproduce. Bob Beamon tho, inced

I agree.  To consistency deliver within 10/15cm of your max in every major final is very very impressive.  It isn't his fault the division is piss poor compared to previous eras.  Easy to see why he has a chip on his shoulder in his interviews.  Must be the ginger factor!  His back garden was funny as fuck during one of his interviews with a full length long jump board/sand pit in it!  There are so many dodgy WR's in the history books but i really think the long jump records are predominately clean and just full of freak jumpers.

KJT is a super star in waiting.  She is perfectly built for multi events with her speed/length and power combo.  Hope the coaches/yes men behind the scenes don't blunt her balls out/win at all costs mentality just by being results orientated on one jump which was 1cm too long on the board.

Theres no reason KJT cant throw esp compared to ennis. When she becomes even average there she is unbeatable. Out of everyones league in 3 events. (dont think the dutch lass will be doing a heptathlon anytime soon). Ive bet on her to win the long jump. Cant see how anyone who is willing to go for it like that can be a 33/1 shot. Her first jump was the mistake, especially as she jumps 6.60 without trying and the rests arses drop.

I think rutherford has just started talking utter shit because noone not in blue ribbon events/ record breaking form gets any interest.
