Edit 10/11 Magin Sign, that's a bet surely. Only concern if if takeover goes through they do have players lined up that played a trialists so have played together; however this is countered by fact his budget has been cut from £4m on £1.5m, so he will not be able to sign all of them he lined up. Bourbemouth much stronger than Plymouth, market has adjusted but they're kids ad 10/11 is a bet for me

Very very difficult to price this up.

I wouldn't play at odds on though.

What would you play at Keith with the know facts / info as they are?

If I was 99% sure tonight's team will be the one who plays on Saturday I would definitely play at 10/11.

I'd be pretty surprised if they don't get several players in before then though.

Right now in the current spot, I'd want odds against.

Thanks for reply, I thought that may be your concern. I'm not close enough to it, I know Martin at Jem backed Bournmeout v them a couple of weeks ago if my twitter memory is right. Think I'll swerve for a day or so

That you Pokermonkey?

If Pompey really are shot, I'd be happy with Coral's 11/5 about Cherries H-T/F-T on Saturday. They are 10-11 outright, same price as Badblokes, but the latter are only 13-8 Cherries-Cherries.

Pleasing William Hill rule that one, thought I'd done me cash tbh. Would've been fumming if Swanson had scored though.

Ouch......

baseball

san diego to beat atlanta braves

@ 2.56 with boyle sport

At this price i think this is a excellent bet

San diego have been on a sick heater of late, winning 8 out of their last 10, including a 4-1 win against atlanta yesterday.
Atlanta have lost there last two

Pitchers i would say are very even, hudson for atlanta is a class act, but had a poor outing last time up. Richard has been on a very good run playing well in his last three matches including a complete game

In term on the hitters, san diego have very hot bats of late with there middle order been in fine form. Atlanta have a fine bunch of hitters but who are out of form at the moment except for micheal bourn and dan uggla

So i give a advantage to san diego, so at that price deffo worth a dabble

That's the rub.

If you wait and they don't get players in, the price will go for sure.

I don't bet on football much until at least a couple of weeks of the season has gone by, missing a 10/11 winner in week one wouldn't bother me unduly.

Don't let me put you off if you really think it's a bet.

Singheeeeeeeeee, where you been man?!

Never mind San Diego being on a heater, they have nothing on you.

You currently enjoy automatic right of passage with your Baseball Bets, so we are on.

You are usually quite specific with bet sizes, but you never mentioned it, so I have had £50 with Boylesports, Padres to beat the Braves, @ 77/50.

Thanks!

cardiff are taking a much weaker squad to northampton than expected

i have laid cardiff on the exchanges

Ditto!

We went the other way, & got 4/1 Northampton. Nice when a plan comes together.

I've done some research.

Apparently Pompey have at least 6 players ready and waiting to sign. Maybe as many as 10.

Just waiting for final confirmation of contracts and playing budget.

Names I've heard they have been talking to include: Brian Howard, Izale McLeod, Mustapha Dumbuya and Martin Rowlands.

If that is the quality of player they can attract, they should be a top half League 1 team at the very least.

Whether or not they get these guys on board before Saturday is moot.

More likely no than yes. But still a chance.

Singheee rarely gets these wrong, but when he does, he gets them properly wrong.

Our selection lost 6-0, I'm afraid.

Daily Report as @ 0700, Wednesday August 15th

A fun day, a busy day, & we made a small profit. Small is nice. After a lull towards the end of the Olympics, activity is picking up again, especially now Football is back with us.

We placed four bets yesterday, all of which concluded, together with one from the previous day, so five in all.

Of the five, two lost, two won, & one was voided.

In all, we turned a profit of £35, not much to shout home about, but at least we dined on profit, not value.

The two losers were a horse at Ayr, (odds on), & our Baseball bet, which came a right tumble on this occasion, & was struck out.

The two winners were both League Cup games where we worked on the assumption that one of the Teams was severely weakened for whatever reason, Northampton to beat Cardiff (3-1, after being a goal down) & Plymouth to beat Portsmouth, which eased home comfortably.

We missed a win on Swindon v Brighton, but the tip was a bit ambigious - being Swindon to win, OR Brighton to win on penalties, so it was a bit awkward really. In the event, Brighton dictated a drab first half, but Swindon somehow found 3 goals 2nd half & eventually gave Brighton quite a bloody nose. It was great fun watching Paolo going through his animated touchline antics.

A good day, we had a laugh, debated some stuff, & won a few bob.

What's coming up?

Tomorrow, the Wyndham Golf Championship begins, this was formerly the Greater Greenboro Open. If our Golf experts have any darts to throw, today would be the day to sort them out.

http://www.oddschecker.com/golf/wyndham-championship/winner/all

Today, meanwhile, is "International Football Friendly" day, which fails to inspire or excite, unless you have an interest in the likes of  Angola v Mozambique, Botswana v Tanzania, Bolivia v Guyana, Togo v Burkina Faso (right cracker that), or the commentators nightmare which is Niger v Nigeria. Big Ron has asked to be excused commentating on that.

At home, no less than FOUR International Friendlies will be televised live.

SS1 has Scotland v Australia. Do footballers really fly all the way from Aussie to Scotland for a friendly?

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/international-friendlies/scotland-v-australia/winner

SS2 has Wales v Bosnia-Herzegovina.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/international-friendlies/wales-v-bosnia-herzegovina/winner

SS3 has Northern Ireland v Finland.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/international-friendlies/n-ireland-v-finland/winner

ITV - with surely the nut drab commentating & punditry line up of Chiles, Tyldesley, Townsend, Lee Dixon, Roy Keane & Gareth Southgate - get arguably the best of the bunch with England v Italy.

http://www.oddschecker.com/football/internationals/international-friendlies/england-v-italy/winner

Hard to get excited by any of those, & form is irrelevant, as we have no idea if they will take it seriously. The only half-certainty is the likelihood of tepid & insipid fayre, which the gamblophiles might want to find a sub-market for - perhaps unders on goals & corners.

Should make tremendous viewing.
