Heavy overnight rain/sleet/snow in the West Midlands seems to have given us a decent outside bias at monmore this afternoon from the evidence of the early races.

So glad you posted that 'Photo Rich.

It's the front cover of today's "The Game", which is the football supplement in The Times.

I stared at the photo for an age, just sad at what life is coming to, so much hate for so little reason.

Dele scored a goal against their Team, yup, but is that really a reason to hate so?

Life is too good, & so we've ended up with way too many haters.

Not an Arsenal supporter then.

Manchester Derby

Bookies donโ€™t seem to have reacted too much to the news that City could be under full strength for the Derby. Assuming  the CL tie is still alive after the first leg then I can see Sane, KDB, Sterling, Walker getting the day off and Toure, Danilo, Bernardo + ANOther getting a run out. Still a decent side but one that probably puts us even with a full-strength Maureen Mob. Would still expect City to be favourites but more touch over odds against than odds on at present.

Is this a good lay to back spot. Possibly still a decent lay because even at full strength, Maureen will park the bus and do anything to try and stop us winning the title that day.

Wasn't convinced about the bias at monmore carrying over from yesterday but we had 5 t6 winners on the bounce now  (most of them all the way ping and win) so it must still be there.

The China Open draw is extremely lopsided after the defeat of Ronnie in the last 64

in the top half you have

Selby
Higgins
Ding
Wilson
Mark Williams
Mark Allen
Bingtao

in the bottom half there are 3 top 16 players

Hawkins
Robertson
Bingham

see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2018_China_Open_(snooker)

the bottom quarter has Hawkins as the only top 16 player

these matches are best of 11, so not too short though clearly variance is higher (Ronnie lost to Slessor 6-2) than in the world's, best of 19 even in the qualifiers

WHill offer us 9/1 1/2 1,2 currently (second favourite in the half behind Robertson, whose form has picked up too)

they are the only firm offering each way now

Hawkins hasn't had a great season but reached the final of the Welsh last time out, running all the way to the final without playing a top 16 player (parallels to the way this is shaping up) then losing to Higgins 9-7 and is running into some form ahead of the Crucible where he often "outperforms" expectations

https://www.oddschecker.com/snooker/china-open/winner

suggest ยฃ25 e/w Hawkins 9-1 China Open

entirely a play on the lopsided nature of the draw, trying to hit the each way portion first

Pompey to be top southern club in L1 is pretty much home and hosed.

We've still got place chances with Will Grigg too. Marriott has got the win in the bag, Pitman will almost certainly be second and Dack is too good not to finish in the top four. But our boy is only one off fourth spot with 13 goals and Wigan will be at it for a few more games yet. This top two race, between the top three, looks like going to the wire.

Otherwise in L1, the five teams 5th-9th look to be playing for two spots unless Rotherham lose a wheel. I'm about to look at their respective run-ins no and will report back if I find owt of interest.
