Symptomatic of the fashion. When Italian teams were ruling the world, defending and nursing small edges was prevalent. Now it's Barcelona and a full back who can cross is much more important than one who can defend. I'm sure it'll swing/swong back. |

There's a mathematical formula that explains this. Lots of foreign strikers (x) lots of British defenders (y) lots of goals. (z) x + y = z |

Good league as it's more entertaining and most teams can win on any given day. Over past few years the also rans have become much stronger, even their benches have internationals now. More teams are set up to attack. Quality of defenders individually has gone down though. |
