Golf update.
Our boy is top in birdies. Sadly he is also top in bogeys.....
In 11th after 2 rounds posting a one under par round, while most around him were burning it up. Plenty of time yet.
In Challenge Tour, Shiv only just started round 2, but currently in second.
Thanks Adzy.
Was hoping for better, but it could have been MUCH worse. Did you see that Mickelson hit a NINE on his penultimate hole in Round One?
I gather he wedged into the water, took his penalty & wedged 30 foot beyond the hole, just to be sure, & the ball then spun all the way back to the hole......past the hole.....off the green.....& back into the water. And he still finished under par for that round!

Morning Mr T.
6 winning months in a row is an excellent effort, I had hoped that you woukld reward us with a photo montage. As it is I shall give you a photo celebrating my favourite bet of last month but sadly not one of mine. It is a bit cryptic but I am sure someone will work it out PDQ.
In the tennis later today I think that Berdych should be odds on to beat Ferrer. His serve was outstanding when he beat Raonic yesterday and he should have too much firepower for Ferrer.
Suggest £30 Berdych @ Evs with Ladbrokes

Shall reply propely after I've cleared my overnight work stuff, but for now, thanks, we are on.
I know the answer to your cryptic photo-question, obviously. PS - give us a clue......

A losing bet to start the month as the Bengals lost 22-20 in overtime to the Dolphins. Bit of a double whammy this, as not only did the Bengals fail to score 24 points, despite dominating proceedings but they then lost. The consolation is the Miami win keeps them in the AFC East hunt. Neither side played well.
Progress on the golf is detailed above, with Kapur currently in better shape in his tournament than Speith is in his.
In Serie A Roma made it ten wins from ten to continue well ahead of Napoli at the top of the table

England's Ashes team
With the top 5 batters set in stone...who bats 6?...there are 4 possibilities
Bairstow, Balance,Stokes and Carberry.
Well in theory Bairstow is in possession ....but he didn't play the last test, they tried Woakes. His record at 6 for England is OK ish, but venerable. He's not playing in the first warm up match.
Balance is an exciting prospect and with a good showing in the warm up games ,could nick the number 6 spot. However he's a new boy to test cricket, who's also played just one ODI and scored 0.
Stokes is another good prospect, but again a new boy , and more of an all rounder than a specialist no 6 batsman. Again might nick the number 6 spot if he scores big runs and takes wickets in the warm ups.
Carberry has experience on his side. Played just one test a few years ago, is in form at county level and played well enough in the ODI series to get a seat on the plane ahead of Compton.
So might they "take a chance" and play Balance or Stokes in the first test ?
Well if either score a lot of runs in the warm ups....then you couldn't rule out one of them taking over from Bairstow .
However there could be value in backing Carberry to play a decent part in the Ashes.
He's got a decent chance now he has scored (78) some good runs in the warm up match this morning.
I'm sure England will be tempted to sure up the number 6 spot with a solid in form experienced batsman, in the first (mustn't lose) test.
Also he has the bonus of being the reserve opener...and should Cook/Root have a problem he steps in.
You can get
20/1 top Eng Ashes batsman (1/5 odds e/w top 3 with Laddies)
20/1 first century.
25/1 first six !
Value prices IF he plays the first test so that's the gamble.
Note these prices were pre this game........so might go soon, depending on how the bookies react to the current match.
Thoughts ?

I blame Dalton. I've always believed throwing INSIDE the WR is a cardinal sin, you gotta throw OUTSIDE if you don't want costly interceptions.
Any more NFL questions, I'm here all week.

Thanks Nick, you've put a lot of work into that.
I know nothing of cricket, really, NFL is my area of expertise. I think they'd be great fun bets, though, at, say, £10 each, & might give us a fun series sweat at little cost. Note Ladbrokes limit that first bet to £10 EW.
I've bet all three on my own account to "reserve" our position, if the other lads don't think the bets are daft, & the price has not gone by then, I'll transfer all three bets to Fred. The concern, of course, is that those prices might well disappear this morning.

sorry (Nick) I think its daft. Can't see him playing a game unless an opener is injured. Bairstow will begin the Test series at 6.
Completely disregard today's game, its a net. Cook and Root will get the most chances before the first Test, this could be Carberry's only game
I would be wanting more than 20-1 prices on someone 1/2 to be carrying the drinks tray all tour
Even if he were to play all five Tests I just couldn't see him outscoring enough of our top six to make the risk-reward worth it

I couldn't see Top England bat being outside the current top 5.
Almost inconceivable it would be.
I might even ignore Root (technique will be tested on fast/back foot pitches)
Genuinely a tough call the player markets for these Ashes, on both sides. Hours spent poring over it and no value found so far

Yes, a cracking effort, though we must doff our cap to variance, who's ugly side will expose herself soon enough.
There were no "monster" wins in October, either, the biggest 3 being the Phil Taylor darts bet (£200), Adzy's horse (£180) & wetsuit's Inexhaustible shocker, £118. The reality is, we get a lot of fun with these bets, & the big wins sort of finance the fun bets.
If I find time, I'll try & do a photo-montage of the month, or maybe a year-end one in December.
I can't figure your photo-quiz, I'm afraid. My fave three Fred bets in October were....
Wetsuit's 125/1 bike bloke.
Adzy's "Johns Spirit", a 9/1 shot that simply hacked up like an odds-on shot.
Top of my list though, by far, even though it was a small bet, was Janet Yelland, for the Federal Reserve thing, down to neeko. Outsde of Fred, not so many folks would EVER have spotted that one, which was as near a certainty as is possible.
My November top three already has one name pencilled in - Tighty's incredible Bailey bet. Not just a big-priced winner, but such a fun sweat over 7 games.
Now I just have to match one of those to your photo.....

BREEDERS CUP RACE BY RACE PREVIEW
SATURDAY
JUVENILE FILLIES
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-juvenile-fillies/winner
Hopefully some thread viewers will have got on Sweet Reason at 6/1 earlier in the week looks like going of probably 4/1 joint fav. Cant really advise backing her now at the current price or anything else in an open contest.
NO BET
FILLY AND MARE TURF
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-filly-and-mare-turf/winner
Lovely race Dank is an obvious and good fav, however was 4/1 10 days ago,now sub 2/1 worthy fav but not for me now.
Romantica probably has equal form as dank when at her best but i cant back her of the last run.
Tiz Flirtatious is a fair price over here, she has improved miles this season and somehow won last time off very slow pace. Qushchi would not have been within 20 lengths of the euros on her european form but has improved for lasix; she was only 4 lengths behind Laughing (10/1 in here) last start after a nightmare trip and is 50/1.
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-filly-and-mare-turf/winner
BET SUGGESTION TIZ FLIRTATIOUS £15 WIN 13/2 VCBET/888 QUSHCHI £5 EWAY 50/1 VCBET
FILLY AND MARE SPRINT
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-filly-and-mare-sprint/winner
This looks impossible, if pushed for a bet Dance Card at 12/1 for the boys in blue looks ok but i am not fully aware of all of the opposition to suggest anything.
NO BET
TURF SPRINT
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-turf-sprint/winner
Very unusual for a sprint at this meeting there is not a bundle of pace. Reneesgotzip should go close if allowed own way which he maybe.
Dimension is a bit like qushchi you would not back it on euro form but the former Nicky Henderson assistant has done a great job with him.
Just a small bet as the lack of pace makes this very tough.
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-turf-sprint/winner
BET SUGGESTION DIMENSION £10 WIN LADBROKES 16/1
JUVENILLE
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-juvenile/winner
Unlike the turf there is stacks and stacks of pace in this one. Not a betting race for me but will as ever be a good watch late on.
NO BET
THE TURF
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-turf/winner
Very much like Dank,The Fugue is the rightful fav here but again her price is nearly half what we could have had two weeks ago so not for me. Point of Entry is a top class horse but been off for an age.
Cant have Magician at all for this, looks like an afterthought to me and has never been over this trip im having a small place lay.
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-turf/winner
BET SUGGESTION Place Lay Magician presuming matched at if not NO BET
THE SPRINT
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-sprint/winner
Real headscratcher this Justin Phillip was unlucky against Private Zone last time but having watched again the current fav for the sprint just wanted it more. J Phillip has an ideal draw this time and looks a corking place bet but has ducked the issue before.
As to what to back to win something unexposed and coming from a different form line for me.
MAJESTIC STRIDE has missed a lot of racing but has the ability to win this 33/1 is insulting.

THE BREEDERS CUP MILE
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-mile/winner
Oh Wise Dan i love you i really do, plenty will be tempted to lump on the best horse in American Racing especially if behind for the meeting. Won TEN straight turf races and has beaten all of these before bar Olympic Glory.
I cant have Olympic Glory with anybodys money, had 14 days since last run, extreme change in going, second time blinkers and a very very sharp turf track not for me and another European place lay if the price is ok.
Of the rags i quite like Za Approval who is a different animal to the one Wise dan hammered earlier in year. Comes here on a career upturn and vc again are a bit insulting with 33/1 for a horse who has finished no worse than fourth in 12 starts on a firm turf course, with seven wins and four seconds under those circumstances.

THE BREEDERS CUP CLASSIC
http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/ante-post-racing/international/breeders-cup-classic/winner
Cant find a bet here, these tend to beat eachother and the long season often throws up an even more unfathomable result, a race to watch and enjoy and pray they all finish the grueling course.
NO BET

Crikey John, you've done your homework there!
Might take me some time to work though that lot, but I'll get to work right away.
Please update the results here on Saturday night, I'll not be able to watch the races as I'm working.
I stuck the Friday bets on yesterday, but have yet to do the FRED BETS thing for Tighty. Not enough hours in the day sometimes.
