That Golf Thing......

I missed the place value on McDowell (suggested by Omm, I think?) but we've had £10 @ 16 (15/1) on him to win.

We also took £10 @ 29 (28/1) on Speith.

The Messi suggestion was letting fred followers no they could get a quite easy free bet on the contest or even better green up

Appears quite a few now have a nice green book on the contest for little effort something which is always nice

Personally i did not get involved

Why would you point out a free bet/bet to nothing(brilliant) and not take it up yourself?

Because i am barely betting at the moment and dont have the funds to tie up on a market likely to be settled in about a month.

If something as obvious as that comes up i will still point it out though, and plenty appear to have got a nice position out of it

SPOTY
Cant help thinking McCoy to win in the W/O Murray market needs a bet.
A past winner who only gets more popular each year, hitting a massive milestone and warmed received all round. Let us not forget, Mo Farrah won two Olympics golds last year and didnt even get a first three. Frome hasn't had the headlines the other cycling boys have had, and if there is atill any 5/2 about, get some on it. Welcome any comments

Anyway, good to be home!

Hi Adz,

A few thoughts on SPOTY. Traditionally the cycling fans have got the vote out. Froome however doesn't have the same media profile as Wiggo & Cavendish. The fans will still vote, but perhaps not with the conviction of years gone by. IMO could still scrape into 3rd.

Hi mate.

Yes, He could do, I worry more about the golfer. Much as I like Justin Rose, you only have to look at the wonderful Darren Clarke story, to see that only the real household golf names stand a chance, and I dont see Justin having the same profile as a Rory, or even a Luuuuuuuke.

Initially it looked to me as the battle was for 3rd.

Murray nailed on winner.

I saw Mo as clear 2nd, he has a wider TV appeal, his World gold medals adding to Olympics memories, still resonate with the general public.

Close between AP & Froome for 3rd.

Yuh, John Ferguson. He'll probably give her a few quiet ones round Sedgefield before going for the EBF Mares' Final, oi oi.

The Derby Evens bet would have been the ideal spot to try for a bag on with a view to laying a chunk back?

Afternoon Mr T.

Will we be doing any of Tighty's 2nd Test recommendations that he has put on Betpal? Days of fun if we do.

I had to laugh today when I was in the bookies and saw someone using the squeeze technique on the blackjack machine - it sure worked well !

I couldn't find much of interest to be frank

All the chatter is that the drop in pitch is very dry, with the prospect of England playing two spinners

I looked hard at first innings runs for both, wanting to be long

Whoever wins the toss makes hay

Australia +/- 410 looked very punchy though

England +/- 385 interesting, but not sure I could put it up if Prior 6, Bresnan 7 etc. Long tail

very good, for anyone that has not seen the last ashes series one's well worth a watch.

Anyone get the feeling of low morale from the video? - Really hope they win this test to get back on track been searching through for bets but nothing really coming. Thinking im gonna just punt on an England win. Need to have a look through some of the paddy power top bat bets and also had some offers emailed through today which i will be tralling through later.

Not much to find an interest in tonight, Premier League market so tight for any value.

But Fulham are at home to Spurs and both are generally out of form at the moment. A new manager and I wouldn't say there is all that between Fulham and Spurs, but at 21/4 with 365, think it could possibly be a decent sweat.

Man City look woefully short at West Brom.

Kompany might be back though, and that would preclude maximum confidence.

Hi hector,

We would LOVE an Ashes 2nd Test bet or two, but we can't bet for the sake of it, & there seems nothing at the right price. Still, we have several Series sweats already, so they'll do.

Must go, dinner awaits. Chicken, tinned toms (Tesco's finest) with an added OXO cube & Worcester Sauce to make it zing a bit, & two poached eggs. Mmmmm.....

Its interesting I made under 2.5 goals value in every single game premiership game today.  Not sure why that wopuld be although there have been slightly less than the usual number of goals in the prem so far this season.  I bottled betting them all and bet under 25.5 total goals instead though!!!!
