Poor old Tommo

If you put 'Lee Tomlin' into Google, the second suggestion is 'Lee Tomlin Fat'. There's also a 'Lee Tomlin Weight' option.

*Golf 9.16 tee off, Millbrook, oi oi!

Princely Hero will always be a day-of-race drifter. Anticipated IR movements always force prices outwards these days. He's probably around a genuine 5/2 shot to win but I wouldn't be surprised if he hits 6 pre-race, coz he's quite likely to hit double figures IR.

He's super lazy and is down in trip on better ground.

Gotcha. Sort of.

I understand that it is not possible to give precise numbers, but if anyone can suggest to sensible (tiddlearsey) stakes what I should pre-enter (as sonour suggested last week) & at what numbers, I'll give it a whirl.

Ok, lay £20 at 4.0. If it is matched before the off then back £10 at 8.0 and tick keep in play.
Is that ok Chompy ?

Bucking The Trend 1.10 Fontwell

I have had my max ew bet, for Fred purposes £30 ew

Thanks Adz, just seen this.

We got on, £30 EW, but you never gave me a price guide. I took a chance & took 6/1 with BMU, hope that is in the right area.

BET PLACED

Adz what's the story with this, it's 9.6 on betfair and gone 15/2 with BMU is it still a max bet?

Fred are safely aboard this, but If anyone missed this last night, & you still want to get on, it is now freely available at 7/1, even 15/2 in one spot.

Stay calm young Padawan.

I was amazed at last night. I'm delighted at the price this morning.

I liked the horse last year and he was overtryed in the Bartlett at the Festival, but he jumps well enough and could be very well in off this mark, and I know that he is trying.

At 1.30 we shall know for sure!!

Either way I trust most of you are at least free rolling my stuff. GL.

Best-seller?

Think I've sussed the rest, except the pop idol bloke. Only Tal, Doobs, Tighty & Chomps watch that sort of nonsense.

Outstanding Bets £3080.66

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdFk3UmlTSXMzTjRBTVNfOWRndVFsZHc&usp=drive_web#gid=33

The Heisman trophy finalists were announced, winneron Saturday.

Jordan Lynch Johnny Manziel Tre Mason AJ McCarron Andre Williams Jameis Winston

No Mariotta, so take that as a £20 loss. Winston is widely regarded as a good thing, which is of curse good for the thread

In pertinent news for some outstanding bets

Hull City got an away point at Swansea. Modest good news for the top promoted team and handicap bets

The Bears beat the Cowboys, leaving the Eagles one clear atop the NFC East on our superbowl bet. Last game of the season? Eagles at Cowboys

Busy week at work ahead for your humble writer, so just catching up on the day's frivolities. Got home in time for University Challenge and Only Connect. Then the long trawl through updated topics on blonde. Does anyone else do them in order of the ones they are least likely to post a reply in, therefore in my case leaving TfT til last? No? Suit yourselves.

England being 2-0 down due to being outdone by pace and bounce before they even get to Perth (the fastest track in the world, where England have only won once against a Packer weakened side in 1978-79) is like losing to Magnus Carlsen at tiddlywinks before meeting him in a Chess Championship. Shame no one will read this far to appreciate such a nice metaphor

Excellent.

Also, as a caveat on the premier league handicap market, I should remind you that I've drawn the Toon Army in the blonde handicap sweepstake. That's me, the Professor Emeritus of Bokology.

Think that's it for now...

Exactly that, leave the best until last. Same when I eat, always leave the best until last.

Sorry mate should have worded it better, i meant is it worth going in again at the price. I would be no way questioning your recommends, particularly with your record. Roll on 1:30.

Is that ok Chompy ?

Its Chompy's suggest obv, but I think its better to place the back bet at some point after the start of the race.

As I understand it the suggestion is that the horse will hit a flat spot - presumably in the second half of the race - and its odds will lengthen.

In the first half of the race it could fall and we will have wasted our back bet or its main rivals could fall meaning that the odds we should ask for should probably shorten.

Also it can be sometimes better to place these bets on odd figures like 7.8 rather than 8 to ensure that you get matched.

If you have software like Gruss ( http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/?referer=sst )* you can have a look at how much is waiting to be matched at a price

and assess whether you should ask for a price just below it.  (With Gruss you could actually entirely automate the process of putting the bet on when the price rose to say 8 but not greater than 20 to try and avoid getting matched when the horse falls)
