more rain please

Don't think any more is forecast.  Ground can't be far from good.

Going to have to reread the T and Cs for that first race bet.

"Where you are unable to place the maximum risk free bet amount due to restrictions on your bet, we will credit the difference between the maximum risk free bet returns and your actual returns. "

which reads like if it wins they'll pay out at £10 e/w anyway?

That is how I read it too, but seemed strange.  I assume if this wins we only get a £8 free bet

You read it correctly as long as you have bet the maximum exactly

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting/epsom/15:15/winner

BET SUGGESTION FREE ZONE MAX EACH WAY (£15 each way) whatever beteverydayoftheyear will lay fred.
as they are 5 places... If not then make up stake with 4 place firms please.

If the storms had hit Epsom i would have been having a proper bet here.

NEGATIVES FIRST :

beaten 27 lengths into last at Chester last time.

Not shown form this season at all.

POSITIVES :

Good draw

Fair mark with riders claim

Switched from Bryan Smart to Robert Cowell (Smart leavers often improve and Cowell is considered one of the better trainer of sprinters)

I speak to one of Robert Cowells owners fairly regularly and he told me last season he felt Cowell had taken his eye of the ball and was believing his own publicity a bit.

Said owner now has half of his horses with Cowell and the rest with Stuart Williams.

Results this season show Cowell has woken his ideas up a bit getting back to near were he was two seasons ago. This has taken even more of an upturn this last week, his last three runners have been.

Won at 2/1

Won at 33/1 (77/1 betfair sp)

Won at 11/4

He also had two winners in the previous six runners so is currently running five winners from his previous eleven runners.

If the ground had turned Soft i would be having for me a big bet here, as it is the short sharp burst of rain should be enough for Free Zone to have a slighter better chance than the odds suggest.

Obviously horse could have gone but only had 29 career runs so by no means should be.

If it does rain again between now and 3.10 i will be back suggesting a bigger bet.

Pat Smullen rapidly becoming my least fav flat jock. Never wins for me and often fooks up stuff I fancy. He completely mullered Western Hymn on at least two occasions, which probably only cost us a place, but a place nonetheless.

We had the 1-2 in the Derby, though the Kingston Hill e/w was severely restricted on thursday, thanks to Australia at 5-2 to WH this morning

Overall, including the loss on the A-o-B no classics bet, we won £50.25 on the race
