Imagine how good for the game USA making the final/winning would be.

They aren't the best team but so hungry for it.
Been well impressed with how excited they are about it over here, wasn't like this in 2010. Venetian erupted when they scored the other day, they're loving the WC and can see why, love their team. Had to answer some pretty comical questions about how the game works, how long, what the flag on the play was (explaining offside with poker chips lol) but gotta be good for the game.

PS Yes Doobs I'm in Vegas. Sorry

Hi jeff couple of nba specials I posted a few pages back which I wouldn't mind your opinion on if you can find them. Hope Vegas is good!

No real bf market and it's a pretty below average game to bet French players each way, betting Ecuador players each way just can't be good. Each way betting on fgs should just be when teams are 1/3 and shorter and goal expectation is higher than average- we seem to have forgotten this as seen loads of fg scorers recommended each way recently that id lay to lose a house. Better off just betting first goal, especially for these big price ones for big underdogs

Thanks for the nudge in the right direction.

Dellacqua through to round two, won in 3 sets having lost the first.

Yep - needs a big improvement in performance to run Radwanska close!

The evergreen Rafael Marquez was superb tonight.

Think there is growing evidence that the MLS is a strongish league, plenty based there have played really well so far not including the Americans.

I certainly don't think its as bad as its made out to be.   Typical of the british media to decry every other league in the world.  If its not the EPL it can't be that good.  Its certainly the best packaged league but in terms of standard its not that great.

don't think they do. the EPL is hyped up, certainly, by the broadcasters with the various rights but no one is saying la liga, serie a, bundesliga, ligue 1 etc etc are bad are they?

MLS developing fast. the players it produces are actually quite "british" in style. strong, big etc etc

The US team have had to travel further than any other for their three group games. Klinsmann seemingly chose a lot of MLS-based players with that in mind. They aren't as affected by dramatically different climatic conditions, long distance flights or waiting at the airport if their departure is delayed. It's what happens in the MLS, after all. The selection of Beckerman was a surprise, according to the US media, but it seems like he's been a bit of a spark in the dressing room; a character.

They have a fantastic camaraderie and they look hungry, like they really want to play for each other. Just don't see the US team going out with a whimper like England did.

This is all reminding me of that film "Miracle" with Kurt Russell.

Who do you play for?   The United States of America!

World Cup

Neymar's two goals took him back to the top of the golden boot charts, for which he is now the 3/1 favourite. Neymar's 35 goals for Brazil puts him in the top 50 of all time international goalscorers, at the age of 22

for brazil....

Cricket

Looking good for our Sri Lanka bet, after one of the worst England test match days since the last one. Bob Willis was off his long run last night on the verdict ""Brave new world of Paul downton, Alistair cook and peter moores has started with a train crash " Arjuna Ranatunga was forthright. "England were crap, totally crap"

county cricket is grim for us. Derbyshire currently being stuffed by Kent. Madsen out for 7 and 13* following on. Eckersley out for 4 for Leicestersbhire and Evans not picked for Warwickshire

Baseball

The Royals beat the dodgers 5-3 last night

The Orioles "walked off" to win 6-4 against the White Sox, chris davis witha  3 run HR to win it in the final "at bat"

The Yankees lost to the blue jays 8-3

we are reasonably placed with all three bets http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/?tcid=mm_mlb_standings

Appreciate no good for fred (maybe someone could put on if gets support)

http://www.oddschecker.com/horse-racing-betting

I am surprised staying at Liverpool (just for this window) is the outsider here.

Looking at the recent quotes they looked more of a dig at Roy than anything else.

any views?

Tighty,

I don't understand the odds for Sri Lanka 1.24

I don't see how this can be anything other than a Sri Lanka win ?

Bald seem to be betting the game to 100% on their webite evens 3/1 3/1.  Assume this is a promo and stakes will be limited.  Would be nice if they were actually taking an opinion and would actually lay a bet at evens.

Don't go evens then if you don't want arbers on the phone.  This is the thing that winds me up more than anything in the industry.  If you don't want to lay arbers don't bet to 100% on the biggest game of the day and go 20 spots bigger than bf then wonder why your phones are red hot???

If you are going to knock someone back who wants an even £40 why are you going evens in the first place?  Makes no sense at all.  What are you trying to achieve when you bet to 100% and go evens England?  What is your plan bald?  Assume you don't have one and someone in the marketing dept thought it would be a good idea.

It sort of makes sense if you don't fancy England and it's your last chance to make out of them this world cup as they are on their way home.  But if you are going to knock back an even £40 you are also going to knock back loads of casual punters who just want a bet on the game and would have happily took 8/11 england.
