EPT Deauville thread
«

January 30, 2012, 05:54:29 PM »
The EPT's annual return to the elegant seaside resort of Deauville in Normandy is now well-established and will be taking place in Season 8 from January 31 - February 6, 2012. Last season, the event broke its own record, attracting 891 players to the Casino de Deauville and generating a €4,276,800 prize pool.
This season, the event will again be taking place in the spacious new tournament area located in an annexe of Casino Barriere at The Deauville International Centre - located right on Deauville's beautiful beach and close to the town's premier hotels, shops, bars and restaurants.
Frenchman Lucien Cohen won the Season 7 event on home soil, taking the title for a first prize of €880,000 after besting the record-breaking field. The result was a disappointment for Swedish PokerStars qualifier Martin Jacobson however who was beaten heads-up, giving him his second runner-up finish of the season. Jacobson went on to win the EPT7 Online Qualifier of the Year title, amassing total earnings in Season 7 of more than €1.1 million.

As reported by liv Boeree on social media this morning
In level 1 of Day 1b today a player is all in with A-K and accidentally exposes his hand
A second player ( with 9-9 as it happens ) can call or fold, and effectively have a €5,000 + €300 flip early doors
Do we go for this?
(results follow!?)

Of course, if we are Liv Boeree we aren't going to have a big edge in this tournament. Assuming the AK isn't suited, won't this be 57/43 and not a flip?

Assuming the 99 had already put some chips in the pot, meaning there was dead money + AK's chips to win, it's a no brain call surely?

Here is what she said on twitter
Great table. So far witnessed a spectacle where 99 got it in preflop 1st level vs an EXPOSED AK suited, who snapped. €5k flip? No big deal.
Sounds like the AK snap called the 99 shove despite exposing his hand previously.
Assuming the AK off 3 bet and exposed, surely calling is best with 99? AK9 flop would be fun. I think you are actually 55/56% depending on suits with 99. EIther way I don't think 99 made an error here.
As an aside we had a hand at GUKPT Manchester. UTG raised to 400 at 50/100. BB had just sat down and shipped 20K in. UTG said he couldn't fold QQ and called. Other fella had AK off.

It went player A opens player B calls, C then decides to 3bet and expose AK. A flats and now B decided to 4bet which is obviously stupid. C then piles it in and now B tanks which is even funnier almost as if he didn't expect AK to get it in.
