Yes the S3. Do you have it too?

Everything about it frustrates me atm.  Except for the battery life that is, this one lasts about 3 times longer than my previous phone.

Oh and it's lightning fast.

I do indeed. Moved from iPhone and I absolutely love it. How weird battery life is one thing I was disappointed with. I think I might have a few too many apps and widgets and I don't stop them running in the background often enough. If you need any help just give me a shout and I will tell you to switch it off then on again..

Terrific photos Tom, you make it look so easy.

On that park bench, is that "lichen" I can see?

If so, what an extraordinary thing lichen is.

If it's not, carry on, as you were.

Yes. I'm fascinated by lichens. They grow on rocks and everything. WTF do they live on?

BTW- Here's a new joke for your growing repertoire

Q: Why did the fungus marry the algae?

A: He took a lichen to her.

There are any number of types of lichen. Some that grow on hard rock, even granite, actually dissolve the rock with chemicals & extract nutrients somehow. They can take a century or more to grow to the size of a fingernail. In Bryson's ASHONE he described tham as the ultimate example of clinging to life.

I could go on, but best not......

PS - Woodsey LOVES this stuff really.

Lichens / paint drying...  It is possible to combine the two.

Actually, lichens do grow pretty well on paint. Especially the older, non anti-fungal paints.

Also, going back to my days as an interior designer, 'Lichen' is quite a popular paint colour.

Wsn't allowed to take pics at the pantomime unfortunately. Today I spent the day with the Grand daughter at the Winter Wonderland in Princess Street Gardens, great fun but cost a fortune.
