Please can we take a couple of sads off now?
Wasn't sure which two you meant, so just removed two random ones.
Hope that's ok.

It's my thread and no sads should come off until Arsenal have won an Premier League title or a Champions League IMO

It started with and you wanted another two. Are you saying it should still be four?

Two is more than adequate. Since the other two were added we've spanked Man U, Watford and Bayern, I'm not what else we can do m'lord

I think "sad" should be replaced by "glad".
I mean, who does not admire the Arsenal? Keefy claims not to. I raise.

In all the time I've been watching Arsenal under Wenger this was only the second occasion where the team was set up to frustrate the oppo and let them play like we often do. I abso loved it - masterclass and so funny listening to Hargreaves moistness for Bayern gradually evaporate over the game.
Wenger may choose to play what appears to be a naïve tactical game on a lot of occasions against better sides but he shows he has great tactical awareness when he wants to.
What a guy

Interesting piece by Matthew Syed in today's Times in which he discusses Ozil, who gets a fair bit of flak for seeming to be lazy.
If Matthew is correct, Ozil's "assist" rate is the highest in the history of the Premier League, & also the 2nd highest in Europe since August 2008, fractionally behind (93 to 98) a lad by the name of Messi.

Haven't had a chance to look at the article, but surely a fair chunk of those were gotten elsewhere, so I presume they're not included in the 'highest in the history'
Would it not be better to count how many since he arrived in the premier league?
I'll get back in my box, if it turns out I've completely misunderstood it

I'm equally likely to have misunderstood, but it clearly says.....
his assist rate is the highest in the history of the Premier League, (one assist for every 2.78 games).
So I took that to mean during his time at Arsenal, & just in the EPL.
I can't C & P, as the online version is behind a paywall, & only really posh people subscribe to it.

Superb to watch, too, & in that respect, he is not alone at Arsenal. Boring Arsenal have become wonderfully watchable.

Oh well, I'll have to see if I can hunt it out the peasants way
I wasn't digging him out, was just playing devil's advocate, as we know people like to mould stats for purpose.
For instance, I cashed in every spin 'n' go that I played last night
As for good football, I think Arsenal play the best football in the league, ainec.

Not everything he does comes off but I have never seen a player try the right thing as often as he does. He is an amazing talent. Right up there with Bergkamp imo for the most sublimely talented player to have ever played for arsenal

Love that Ozil is off the mark.
Ditto Welbeck, who also slotted a beauty through to set up the Ozil first goal.
Thing that made me happiest were the number of shots from range, not just trying to walk in the perfect goal.
Looks like Wenger may finally be coming on board.
Love having Wellbeck in the team, his speed and kinda muscular athleticism for the second goal was something you don't often see for Arsenal. I can't hear any criticism of Ozil, sublime footballer and good to see some more obvious evidence to shut a few people up
I over use sublime !!!!
