£40M sounds a little optimistic from the Leicester side but I think he'd be a useful addition as a wide playmaker a la Robert Pires.

All this talk about Arsenal standing still this season and we already have 71 points which equals last season's total with two games still to play despite a couple of horrendous runs.

We didn't have a great season last season.  No disrespect to Leicester but if ever a title was there for the taking, it was last seasons, yet we couldn't do it.

Arsene Wenger makes it pretty clear he's staying basically...

Hi Arsene

This satisfactory soundbite with us "having similar points to last year, so it aint so bad" is indicative of our different angles. Ralph is clearly happy to drift each year, giving the team a nod and a smile because we got roughly the same again.

Most others however, want more, that is the issue.

We don't have new management finding their feet, lack of funds, new ground etc. That is all done dusted, put to bed. We should be surging while all the rest are adjusting yet we are flapping around just trying to keep afloat against barely a ripple of tide. The real net result, is the that big boys are getting better, and we aren't, hence they are more clinical v the smaller teams, hence why we are dropping back with the same points.

Even his voice grates whenever I hear his latest stupid comment on TV or radio, as I cringe at what he will say next(AW, not Ralph....)

this may just be agent talk, i know his agents are trying to get him the move this summer (allegedly promised on signing new deal post league win, if we didn't finish top 4) and he himself has hinted at a London club

"Arsenal are set to pay the £40m for Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez which was already put in place for him to move this summer."

i'd be happy with the price as a leicester fan, what would Arsenal fans think?

I'm always surprised when footie fans talk about the price of players like it's their own money. Personally I wouldn't really care if we spent 20million or 60 million on Mahrez, also don't really care if we keep Sanchez and he goes free in a year.

Would quite like to see him at Arsenal as he probably has the ability to score and assist more than most of our current midfield. Would rather see someone in the Dembele mould than Mahrez though.

Ultimately fans pay the price though, whether it be through ticket prices or sky/by subscriptions.

72 points now(Diane informs me) - one more than last season with a game still to play - not really that shabby a total considering it's been a somewhat disappointing season.

I'm still not convinced that it's a sacking offence or that there's too much wrong.

Good persistence today. Sneaking top 4 and winning the FA cup would be a satisfactory way for Arsene to go out on somewhat of a high.

Plus, of course, an FA Cup Final still to come.
