For clarification.

I, not we, am opening a betfair account on which Solaris will place bets for us in return for a wage should there be any profit.

I am doing this because we want a certain amount of control but also because Solaris doesn't want the responsibility of the banking side of things.

The biggest single risk is that he will potentially be able to spunk the money away to his own betfair account if he so desires. In order to protect against this I won't leave the full balance in the account.

He can not steal all of the money. I can but he can't.

I am prepared to take that risk. My eyes are wide open to the potential risks hence the reason I've stated in the OP that the max investment is £400.

EDIT: All this is obviously dependant on Solaris wanting to do it. He might well decide not to.

Just for clarification.

We are opening a betfair account on which we will place bets for solaris. We are doing this for safety reasons due to potential addictions issues but also to give solaris a decent go at using his knowledge wisely to make him and us a few quid.

But we are also going to give him access to the account to place all the bets.

what could go wrong.

No slight on you solaris.

He cannot steal the money.

He can spunk it away, but we are prepared to take that risk

he can steal the money? blatch managed it.

blatch was able to withdraw the money solaris wont be able too

blatch dumped the moeny to other accounts.

as matt said only a certain amount will be in the trading account at any one time so he can only run off with a small percentage which would be silly when he could be claiming 30% of any profit each month

Not sure that's true tbh. He lost a lot to other accounts but he didn't dump it.

I'm pretty sure he just withdrew it and spent it on his other gambling habits.

Spot on.

If for example we get a total investment of £2000 I'll keep hold of £1500 and put £500 in the betfair account.

If Solaris loses it all I'll give access to someone with a brain who can go through it to check for any misgivings.

If it all looks fine then I top up another £500. If not we all dust off 25% of our investment and I get to spend the £1500 on lap dances.

These are just random figures. Obviously all yet to be confirmed once we hear off Solaris whether he wants to do it.

i really dont think there is much need for nth degree disection of what can and cant happen here. If you are bothered about losing your investment - dont invest!

YOU ARE PUTTING UP £200 AND LETTING SOMEONE ELSE GAMBLE WITH IT. THERE IS A SOLID CHANCE OF NO RETURN, BUT LOTS OF PEOPLE WILL BE HOPING OTHERWISE

I'm in for the £200.

If its in Evil Pie's name and he has the bank details then the only way anyone can steal the cash is by cross trading to other accounts or spunking it on the casino or dumping thru the poker room. If Evil is happy to keep checking the account and keeping the main % of the cash on deposit in his own bank to be used when needed then I think we are set to go.

Obv, any sign there has been any casino or poker playing then we are out, and all bets need to be proofed on the forum, esp middle of the night plays as anyone that wanted to switch money from one account to another in a none liquid market would prob choose to do it then.

I am not trying to be rude Sol, just best thing all round that we get it sorted out asap.

Obv we need to have a staking plan in place too.

I already have a disclaimer in mind. It goes something along the lines of: If you lose all your money don't blame me because I don't care.

£200 i'm happy to lose.  There is a bigger picture to think of though. If you give someone 4k and say we don't mind if you spunk the lot tbh, it'll be funny, i think there is a fair chance he'll spunk the lot and kill off all his cred that he has potential to build. Also a great chance to learn discipline in punting.

From what I can gather Sol would be happier with full disclosure.

I'm happy to keep tabs on the account but I have very limited knowledge of betfair and trading.

It's probably wise to have someone else with access who can make sure that side of it is all good.
