i really dont think there is much need for nth degree disection of what can and cant happen here. If you are bothered about losing your investment - dont invest!
YOU ARE PUTTING UP £200 AND LETTING SOMEONE ELSE GAMBLE WITH IT. THERE IS A SOLID CHANCE OF NO RETURN, BUT LOTS OF PEOPLE WILL BE HOPING OTHERWISE

£200 i'm happy to lose. There is a bigger picture to think of though. If you give someone 4k and say we don't mind if you spunk the lot tbh, it'll be funny, i think there is a fair chance he'll spunk the lot and kill off all his cred that he has potential to build. Also a great chance to learn discipline in punting.
The spunking the money is deffo the wrong mindset tho. We are showing faith in him to provide returns for him and us, we accept that it might not go that way and we do our money. We all accept that we might lose but it's better to start off hoping that Solaris see's this as a nice way to earn a few quid and agree to put the work in it will involve, not that we are having a jolly up cos it will only cost us 200/400 each if it goes badly.

I've tried to think of something sensible to say here.
Unfortunately I can't. It's all hilarious.

This is the sensible thing I was trying to think of. Thank you.

All that is irrelevant tbh. Im sure Solaris is aware that this is a good opportunity for him, im pretty sure he doesnt wanna hear his reputation being hit on at every opportunity.
Thats the gamble for your £200. He might have the worlds greatest ever spin/ he might run off with your money. The likelihood is itll be somewhere in between.

i'm clearly taking it too seriously. it started as a semi altruistic proposal from the camel and it has the potential to do damge or be great, i just wanted to give it the best chance to be great.

Mark, Luke and John and the other disciples did that, pretty sure people are going into this with their eyes wide open - as is Solaris if he does it

The kid is obv skint.
He has degen tendencies, which are guarded against by matt holding most of the bankroll.
This is a good way for him to have some bets on a sport he obviously follows closely and is capable of winning serious money at.
I think it's a win win win situation (exscept if we lose of course lol)

yes, the guy gets a break when he needs one and if he sets about it with the right attitude you never know what might happen.
There are plenty of people trading sports now with degen tendencies in their life, its the trading sports well that pays for most of the degen moments they have in other areas.

Evil Pie, the clue is in the name, he is a grimmer :-)
There's an even bigger clue in the thread title if you look carefully.

Matt, have you worked out all of the details for your grim yet - or is it still work in progress?
