Hi. There are four or five white dots on my gum where it meets the top of my wisdom tooth, and also a bit of general soreness in the area. There's also a very slight and occasional ache on my teeth on that side. Anyone know what it could be? Dentist is fully booked and not sure how to treat in the meantime.

I had a similar prob a few years back and at a guess you have an infection which will need Root Canal work done!!

Dont think you can do anything other than chew on the other side bud!

Phone your Dentist back and ask what he recommends you do until you have treatment Snoops. He may be able to prescribe something to help you which you can pick up today - and don't let the desk personnel fob you off when you ring.

Hope you don't need root canal. That is the second most painful thing i have been through. The first is not for an open forum.

Sounds very similar to what I had a few weeks ago.

This may be a bit icky but just rub it with your finger then have a sniff. If it smells you've got an infection.

Best thing from what I understand is to swill salt water around the area but you really need to get in to the dentist.

If it's bad you'll be on antibiotics to sort it out.

I've had a root canal. Don't recall it being particularly painful? Although I wouldn't say it was a particularly nice experience!

for reals? I had Wisdom teeth out, which hurt but quite bad tbh, but not as bad as my root canal. Although the woman who did the procedure did remark i was her first 'live' patient as she was a recent graduate. I had to stop half way through and tell her i was in a lot of pain, she then gave me a couple more injections, i thought i was going to rip the arm's of the chair off. A few weeks later i also had an absess at the bottom of it, so had to get it ripped out and go through it again.

You wait for years for a thread about dentists to crop up on a poker forum and then there's two on the same day...

Subsided now.
Might keep my appointment anyhow just to make sure.
Pretty sure it was Perocoronitis.
