Bank for IOU challenge £45 (-£5)

Saturday League 2

Torquay v Morecambe £5 over 2.5 goals at 4/5 Coral, nit bankroll nit for this though I'll be on it in various combos too

Torquay score for fun at home, 16 in 7 home games

Morecambe 10 in 7 away games

Little bit of local knowledge here too, I "discovered" Torquay's striker Rene Howe aged 17 playing on a Bedford park in Sunday league in 2003. He was apprenticed in a factory, I found out, and had enormous pace. Looked a raw talent

I was heavily involved in Bedford Town FC at the time, financially as well sadly, and recommended the manager had a look. The assistant manager went along next Sunday, and they signed him on the spot

He scored over 30 goals in under two years, and got the club (virtually singlehandedly) into the Conference South

He was a big lad for an 18 yo and tore the Southern League to mpieces, when not being torn to peices by lumbering centre halves himself

At that point he was scouted into the the conference by Kettering then into the league by Peterborough where he didn't quite break through

Bedford, without him, went straight back to the Southern League and haven't threatened promotion since

Rene now plays for Torquay United,

Has scored 7 in the last 9, and is a real handful in League 2 particularly now he has settled a bit with an exteended contract at the end of last season

Not a huge fan of the hair these days though

Love it, incred story Tighty and thanks for sharing.

Might have to get Rene in my FGS Acca this wknd.

I used to live/work in Bedford. Even had myself a few Bedfordian girlfriends in my time. I meant to say something when you talked about the hangers where they filmed batman. In like 2003 I saw the bat mobile on the back of a lorry, covered up obv. But nice to see.

I saw Rene Howe on desperate dating show 'Dating in the dark'. He came across as a right muppet.

He then played against Wimbledon a few weeks later. He came across as an utter scumbag.

why use language like "scumbag"?

way over the top isn't it, whether a fan is talking about a team or a person

I highly doubt he is

One of my pet hates

If football fans are going to insult someone, I wish they'd do it with more class and subtely. that way it wuld hit the target

I'll be wating a while I fear.

I said he came across as one. Not knowing him, I can't say for sure that he is, but his behaviour suggested he is, that is all.

oioiiiiiii Swifty, first class quoting skills there mate, have seen you viewing this thread before. Welcome to the party!

Flashscores is http://www.flashscores.co.uk/ it's what I use for keeping up to date with scores etc. Put a tick in whatever teams you want to rail then they will appear in the my games tab at the top. My personal preference is to remove a game as soon as you have the result you need, nothing better than having 1 team left, doing something else then hearing that booming cheer, you rush over to find out your team has got there in the 90th minute.  Wiiiiiiiiii. On the flip side there is nothing worse than hearing the cold harsh sound of the final whistle when you know you needed a chear to get there. Have your speakers on max volume for added fun.

Most importantly GL.

Improved quoting skills FTW,

TY sir
