the general populous are just plain stupid .
the politicians know this so engineer a fuel shortage crisis.
 panic buying begins !
our country is Bankrupt although no one will admit to it .
great timing for collecting much needed extra revenue to 'prop up the end of year figures '

advising the public to fill cans for garage storage beggars belief !  however desperate times call for desperate measures, even taxing the poor old pasty .

sigh im so fkin tilted by this shower of shites running the country

did not know we had to do this i off back down petrol station with some empty milk bottles!

Suggesting that people keep their tanks full of petrol is good advice if tanker drivers are going to strike and not deliver petrol. I don't know what better advice the government could offer? Wait, I know. Tanker drivers are going to stop delivering petrol so all drivers should go to Greggs and buy a sausage roll. Much better advice.

Sorry Mantis, but this is so far wrong it's off the scale of wrongness.

There isn't a strike, so there is was no shortage of fuel or queues to buy some until the government started waffling on about creating fire risks in your garage and wasting time topping up.

mmmm hot sausage roll

even better, a hot steak bake

Yo, they said maybe keep your tanks topped up just in case. They didn't say fight your neighbour tooth and nail to get petrol into your car before the world ends. Just because stupid people panic doesn't turn good advice into bad advice, it just proves stupid people panic. I prefer government to just say how it is rather than dilute things so stupid people don't lose their minds. What actually is so far wrong it's off the scale of wrongness is when Labour found out George Osbourne had never been to Greggs Ed Milliband and Ed Balls together with all the other labour piggies snap went to Greggs to quaff pasties for brekkie so they can prove they're down with the common folk. Nah, I like my leaders jogging round the park and eating bran in the morning thanks. Agree steak bake is nice thou.

Sorry Mantis but your team are massive duffers.  Advising ppl to top up their tanks (creating queues) and stockpile petrol in their homes (dangerous and poss illegal) is idiotic advice.

Why do the stupids need to top up their tanks at all??

7-day noticements before any strike action

[  ] There a fuel shortage
[X]Government is year-end broke and need extra taxes

Considering purposely running out of petrol in a 'free recovery area' on the M62 in protest Cheesy

Why did the Government have to say anything on the subject?

Was the threat of strike action not reported on about 2 weeks or so ago?

The thing that annoys me about this is that I need to top up at the weekend because I'm nearly empty.

I'll just put my usual £60 in which does me for a couple of weeks. No panic here you see.

The problem is that now it's sunny my grass has got a lot longer and needs a cut. This means I need to fill my little green plastic container thing up.

People are going to think I'm a panic buyer because I'm filling up a green container!! Bastards!!! I'm not in a panic!! I'm not joining the fucking idiots who fill containers up because they think it's all going to run out!! I just need some petrol for my mower!!

I give up, I really do.

Government propaganda at it's best.
