...

Admittedly the only 20 y/o's that would want to be in parliament would be those who ...

... have always wanted to be in politics and have known nothing else. ... bellends at best and sociopaths at worst.

Because they've known nothing else they've spent their whole lives in a bubble cut off from the real world ...

...
and therefore have no idea what it is like to be a 20y/o ...

What makes you think being a 20 y/o qualifies anyone to know what's good for 20 year olds?

There might be some who do, but the mere fact of them being the right age group doesn't mean anything.

Politicians don't have to be what they're sorting out and they don't have to have experienced the problems they're trying to fix - all they need is empathy.

It would be a bad idea to let a 5 year old decide what they want to have for dinner.

I am sure it would be possible to replace some mp's with 5 y/o's and improve parliament

We have a PM who was groomed to be PM

[ ] democracy

Politics is a joke. Jobs for the boys. They occasionally let an outlier into the club so as not to give the game away

It may not be a true democracy but being groomed as a PM isn't the reason.

All this talk of 5 year olds in parliament and grooming got me thinking of Peter Mandelson for some reason

This issue gets better and better.

UNITE have their members all primed and ready to go on strike over safety issues. The country over reacts to the situation and creates a shortage of fuel.

The government then relaxes the Drivers' Hours rules so that those, oh so concerned about safety, drivers can now drive for 11 hrs a day, within a 15 hour shift with 9 hours between shifts and they can do that evry day for a week.**

Still, all that overtime this week will help to offset the lost wages when they do go on strike

** Normal rules allow 9hrs driving time per day, which may be extended to no more than 10 twice a week. They also require 11 hrs break between shifts which can be reduced to 9 no more than three times per week. There are other relaxations too relating to maxiimum driving hours per week/fortnight.

The irony is incredible. Rather like the irony in this thread. Wink
