Headed to gala on saturday night and found it to be as juicy as ever with some drunk "paid day" fish. After standard playing for about half an hour there were only about 4 competent players. Villain's calling ranges had been super wide and preflop betting was mainly limped.

Stack sizes are all around the 200-250 mark

UTG makes it 5 to go
5 callers
Hero on the SB flats
BB flats
[Pot: 40]

Hero checks in the dark

FLOP:

BB: leads for 15
UTG: calls for 15
MP: calls for 15
Folds to hero...

[Pot: 85]
Hero makes it 65 to go
BB enters the tank and moves all in for 175
Folds to hero
Hero Calls

Should we be making it more then 65 to go here? BB was one of the competent regs

Looks about right to me, it's the ultimate wet board and you are leaving FE if someone thinks you might be at it and loves his 2 pair.

People aren't folding f/d or combos here so nice to have a psb back to jam turn

Never never never never never never check in the dark.

I never normally check in the dark because I don't want to give out a free draw shorthanded, and if i do flop a monster i don't want to miss a bet, but in this situation 8 ways to the flop i couldn't see it being checked all the way round and it gives no information to my hand being first to act.

already £30 in the pot, 4.50 for me to call with the BB likely to call behind, £4.50 -> £40
Stack sizes of 200-250

fold pre defo, forget everything and remember you have T7offsuit, you're going to be OOP and eveyrone has 250big blinds, tough to win

as for post-flop. Chk raising is defo the best play (although don't check in the dark, no reason to ever do that) making it 65 seems about right, you're never bluffing on 89Jss but you could have some decent semi-bluffs so it's tough for people to get away from top pair.

And Flop BETTER Cheesy

fold pre mate. I said this at the time but at the end of the day you're oop with an offsuit ten high, you're not smacking that many boards for how much it is.

Playing oop reeks, no matter how fishy the game is
