I'm new to the Blondie community.
This may seem a little brash and possibly, even, that butter wouldnt melt in my mouth (far from it at the table i can be THAT guy that doesnt shut up) but i have respect for other players on the whole and as people... I wouldnt ask for anyone elses money. It is their hard earned.
i have 50 dollars in my stars account, i grind 3.50/7 dollar turbo sngs, when i make 100 (or need the cash) i cash back out down to 50. (still a losing account from my degen - life not happened yet times but on the up!) I have bills to pay and a (A)retarded car to fuel (rather have a fast car than do my balls on booze and drugs FTW)
I have had some final table results live, my fair share of (B)retarded, he runs well [ ] and in the past done okay playing 20nl on someone Else's account to learn my faults and eventually get grinding.
But.....
Although I feel my game has massively improved, (backed up from people who's opinion holds weight with me) to ask a community for money, just because they re obviously more affluent than me is utterly ridiculous and outright ****ish. Personally I would class this as begging.
To be frank, I'm not going to rip the whole thread to pieces because I haven't got time. But...

You say butter wouldn't melt in your mouth?? Please see bold references A and B - you manage to use the word "retarded" not as a one time slip of the tongue, but TWICE in 2 sentences. This leads me to believe that you are a) full of sh!t and b) not very intelligent. Please see
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2134999/Shock-Rupert-Murdoch-refers-David-Camerons-son-retarded-testimony-Leveson-Inquiry.html as a recent case of why this is unacceptable. He is however 81 and occasionally senile. From your posts I'm assuming you're early twenties and the "fast" car you're referring to is a VTR or GTI of some description - or worse, a "flashy" BMW that's about 10 years old and worth a couple of grand - If this is not the case and you're older than that then there really is no excuse for your ignorance.
As a side note to that, for the second reference in which you refer to you "retarded" car, you say that you would
Rather have a fast car than take drugs
Could you please explain to me where to two became a mutually exclusive necessity? When I drop my son off at the school I see people with fast cars, I presume it's safe to assume they don't take drugs? The rather worrying side of that is I drive a lovely little car that doesn't go very fast, does that mean I should be speedballing meths and passing out crack to the kids?? Unless your comment is a thinly veiled attempt at some kind of congratulations with a "look at me, I'm smart and talked to Frank and listened when Mr T. said don't do drugs"??
With regards to the bolded sentence regarding "affluence".

This is where your perceived immaturity comes shining through in my opinion, almost as if you have based your view soleley on how much money someone has without taking into account their personal situation. From your post it seems you don't have much money or responsibilty either. You regularly need to cash out £30+ from your stars account to pay for bills and spend a lot of money on fuel for your "fast" car. We have a 3 bedroom house for the 4 of us, we have a small family car and a company car. We have childcare costs for two children, school uniforms to buy, nappies, babysitters, prams, pushchairs... the list quite literally seems endless and to be quite frank I have zero spare cash at the end of the month. So what's my point? Well you see. I play poker regularly at a low stake level and do ok recreationally with my tiny account on SkyPoker. I am however enormously +ev in live tournaments at the £10-100 buy-in level thanks to regular min-cashes and a big £2k+ score last year (for those buy-in prices that's not too shabby) - not because I have an "insane edge" as Mr. Black might refer to it, it's because I ran well. I don't have a roll, I have a family and don't have the time to build both so I chose one over the other. So if there was a £150-£500 buy-in tourney on and I was free I could put up a staking request, put my achievements on it, outline my intentions and effectively lay an offer on the table to see if there were any takers. The "more affluent" on here can then make an informed decision if they would like to back me or not. Most "affluent backers" will go on far more than just a staking request. If they do not know the person directly they will go on previous posts, PHA thread comments, skype conversations, referrals and all sorts of evidence both +ev & -ev. If a "beggar" asks me if I can spare any change for a hot drink I don't quiz him on his previous employment history, job interview techniques, dress sense or question why he should be given my hard earnt 10 pence... (or question any mark-up)
See this thread for my "Mr Black" reference and a reason why Staking threads are good. An initial request is taken badly but just read through and see that massive positives came from it from both sides...
http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=57492.0You can see the staking threads as a beggars thread and if that's your prerogative then so be it. I see it in a very different light and am thankful that something like it exists and can't see why it can be anything but positive!
I'll admit I "bit" at the flippant use of the "retarded" and appreciate I may have come across a little strong. But I hope that the second part of my mini-rant explains my point.
Now how about we settle this in the old fashion way and play hu 4 rollz - I'm going to put up a staking thread to cover me, if you're interested I'm selling at 1.1...
