I am pleased to announce this year's Blonde WSOP 2012 Fantasy League.

The rules.

1. Entry is FREE.  Each person is allowed only one entry.

2. Entries must be submitted on this thread by: Midday Sunday 27th May. No late entries will be accepted. You may make changes to your selection prior to the start of the competition.
See template in next post for entry form.

3. There are 8 categories below.
You must select one player from each category (except for the DTD Qualifier which you will pick after the satellite qualifiers have been completed), plus two players of your own choice from any or none of the lists, plus a captain from one of your names who will score double. You may not select the same player twice, i.e. your wild card entries must not replicate one of your other selections.
You will be allowed to make up to two substitutions once the competition has started. In the event of a substitution any points accrued by either the substitute or the person substituted in events already started (or finished) will be void. If the person that you substitute is your captain, the player that replaces him will become your captain.
The categories have been chosen by Tighty so I accept no blame for them. Smiley

4. There will be three prizes:

1st    DTD Super 50 entry

2nd   DTD XXXL Tournament entry worth £25

3rd    DTD XXXL Tournament entry worth £25

Many thanks to DTD for providing the generous prizes.
(Prize winners should arrange details with Tighty).

5. Points will be awarded as follows:

Events No 1 to 61 from the WSOP schedule will count.
Points will be 5 points for winning, 3 points for making the final table (as designated by the WSOP) and 1 point for making the money.
For heads-up events, the final table will be counted as the 2nd to 8th place finishers.
Points for the Main Event will be 10 points for making the final table and 5 points for making the money
DTD Category, 10 points for final table, 5 points for making the money, 2 points for surviving day 2 and 1 point for surviving day 1.

6. Scores will be recorded on the following spreadsheet:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aia1Hxq-NDNWdDFLQTR1UzZOTXVLVHpwazFhUHZjZlE#gid=2

7. I will be using http://www.wsop.com/2012/index.asp for the purposes of determining results.

8. My decision is final in all matters (until proven otherwise).

These won't be decided until early June. I will post the list of names once they are available and you will have until midday on Sunday 23rd June to select your entry for this category.

Edit 08:30 12/05/2012 - 20 points for the winner of the Main Event has been removed.

-----------------------------------

If there is interest in having a side event with an entry fee with the prize pool consisting of all the entry fees, I will be happy to run this and hold the money.
Let me know on http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=57692.0 if you are interested and what level entry fee would be best.

Thanks Vince, Tighty, for setting this up, and to DTD for the freebies.

Hope as many blondes as possible enter this, it's completely free.

Great stuff.

Anyone interested in a cash subsection of the main pool?

Thanks for setting this up. Also many thanks to DTD for the prize pool.

I think for the ease of the organiser/Player the transfer bit should be omitted.

You will be allowed to make up to two substitutions once the competition has started. In the event of a substitution any points accrued by either the substitute or the person substituted in events already started (or finished) will be void. If the person that you substitute is your captain, the player that replaces him will become your captain.( Too much Hassle) 61 Events to process. Lets keep it simples.

As a Cash subsection for ££ I'd like £50 to make a good prize. 1st 2nd 80%20% or whatever the man in charge thinks

Regards

Many thanks for the feedback - all feedback is much appreciated.

Last year there was a bit of hassle when it was discovered that Phil Ivey wouldn't be playing any events after several people had picked him. The rule is meant to cover similar eventualities so that no-one feels disadvantaged from the start, i.e. where a player announces he is not planning to take part this year, although managers are free to use the substitute as they wish.
If the majority of people don't like the rule we may remove it.

The rule is definitely not a problem for me to organise but I appreciate your consideration. Smiley

We can.
I suspect that it is only worth creating one side event (although I'm happy to organise any side action that enough people are interested in) so we'll need to negotiate an agreed entry fee. So far we have suggestions of £50 and £100.

Maybe a £20/£100 would be good, but obviously increases the work load as such. Maybe add a small vig to the 100, with a portion going to whoever does the work, and a small part to a charity. like 94+3+3. I can't imagine people having a problem with that and solves the workload problem.

If we can only do one i'd prefer £50>>>>>20>100

We can certainly do two side events at different prices if there is enough interest. We just need to consider that it might dilute the field too much, i.e. it probably won't work very well if only 3 or 4 people enter the side competition(s).

Personally, I think THIS thread should be the "Free Entry" thread only, that's largely the spirit of it, anyone can enter, & not feel disadvantaged, & DTD have encouraged it on that basis.

If a £20, £50, or £100 Entry version is wanted, & provided Vince (Lord Spready) & Tighty (Sir Tighty) approve, fine, but it should be a SEPARATE Thread & comp. It will get rather messy otherwise, imo.

Not sure you'd get enough up for paying a hundo imo. In for £20, £50 or £100, whatever's the most popular.
