Well done to George,Stato and of course Rasta Fish.Great to see so many locals doing so well and especially Stato and George eventually getting the decent bink they both deserve.Didn't watch the live stream but sure it was a riot.

Thomas High was on my table yesterday. Played well from what I saw. Not surprised to see him on the final.

He's a semireg in the DTD 1/2 cash games, fairly tight and reserved but has game. Really nice guy, would be great to see him come second. NO deals pls Simon!

I witnessed at least 2 turn shoves with air Smiley

Confirmed animal

So sad you searched back through the archives for that...

Literally was my last tourney cash.... I have to look back at the glory day(s) to keep morale high. What can I say, it's sad times.

Your pulling our leg, surely not? You must have played at least 22 tournaments since that day? Or am i mistaken?

My two cents:

Rastafish is a really nice bloke. Never really seen him be rude to anyone or anything, he just get excited when he wins. He's playing for a lot of money, fair enough get excited if thats ur bag. While some of his plays are perhaps not what people would consider standard, he's not even close to being a bad poker player. He's difficult to play against and doesn't play scared at all which is a big thing once u get towards the end, as Alex said to me last night he's got a pretty good way of potraying a really loose image, while actually always having it when he gets to showdown . Guess it's easier to do all that when u make the nuts most hands, but that's not his fault, couldn't happen to a nicer bloke.

Spoke to my mum today after last night. First thing she said was "It would have been well boring to watch if Rastafish wasn't there" think that sums the situation up pretty well. He's a great character for the game, something a bit different. Fair play to him.

I think the structure was superb. Still maintain the type of players on the final table dictate what happens in terms of when things get wrapped up. Replace Mr Le, Newman, and Bosley with John Black, Mitch and Nick Hicks, it's probably wrapped up by 2am latest, replace George/Rastafish/Smith with Tikay/Jakally/Tom High and we'd probably still be there now. Not criticising any of those individuals, they're playing for a lot of money and they've made it there on merit, it's their right to play as tight as they damn well please. Play more levels on day 1 the only adjustment I would make, think Rob mentioned that anyway.

Also I think a lot of the play before the final table was pretty interesting. Far more play than in previous deepstacks. Why not stream one table for the whole of Day 2, even the whole tournament? Is it expensive to do? Updates would work well alongside that i think.

Didn't hear the commentary, but have heard Alex before so I know he's really good at it. I used to think Peejay was quite quiet, but nowadays he's an animal. Being sick in a Spanish Villa one minute then becoming a national celebrity by commentating on poker the next. What a boss. Mitch had to make do with a slightly inferior sidekick than usual but James staked everyone in the world that won any money yesterday so he wont care about me saying that. If its on youtube will deffo have a listen.

Tighty/Alex excellent updates. They give my mother something to do in her retirement and for that I thank you.

Quick shout out to the DTD football team who have a big match this week against "Barrymore's Swim Team" who are looking to make a big splash in the league this season.

well well well.... my thoughts and sentiments exactly sir.

Can't believe I have been compared to those two above, high praise indeed.

And you're absolutely right about the feature table..... There has to be a way to have 1 table of 8 throughout the tournament and have it on the feature, having a complete stream the whole time with guests would be absolutely amazing.  DTD are already so far ahead of any other club i know, but this would certainly be some frosting on the cake we all enjoy.

He doesn't play scared? Jamming premium pairs when CL to avoid being outdrawn is playing scared imo. Fair play to this guy thou and sure do agree about loving characters in the game. But that is playing scared. Dude obv hides it well with madness and shouting so ok.

Well done to Rastafish, at least he put my chips to good use. He knocked me out half way through day two. I hit a straight but true to form he made the full house. He's a nice guy just a little loud when sitting right next to him. Entertainment in abundance though and the game needs characters like him so absolutely no complaints regarding the volume.

Regarding the structure, I have to agree and add my two penneth that for a £500 comp it was way too fast. Any tournament that has an average stack of 29 big blinds when the bubble bursts is a crap shoot.

But as Rob has stated it was a mistake and that the newer slower structure should have been inputted hopefully it will be better next time.

I travel the medium buy in circuit and structure is important to all of the good players that I have spoken to. I have not conducted any survey but in my humble experience the better players want the better structures as they increase their edge, (although not to insane levels!!! .......sorry John.)

Also, players looking to improve their game will benefit and learn far more in slower structured MTT's as they get to witness the better players at work. I have certainly benefitted by watching and learning from the more successfull players that I have shared a table with. You won't get chance to play with the best UK players if you just play live turbo's.

Crap shoots are for recreational players or those who are unable to commit a lot of time, which is fine, but local casinos run turbo's most nights so their needs are well catered for.

DTD is the best and largest card room in the UK (and probably in Europe) so their monthly Mtt's should have good structures. For the last 18 months I had chosen to play Fox's Monthly because of the better structure (by level 18 DTD used to be double that of Fox) but if DTD keep their recently introduced slower structure it is a no brainer for me. I will be there and I am sure many more will migrate.

I am looking forward to next months WSOP warm up with 1hour clock and WSOP blind levels.

Who said it was too fast? Isn't consensus that it's too slow if anything?

Well played to all the finalists particularly George, Stato and the Fish.

I didn't read the updates as they happened because to be honest I find it painful with all the delay nonsense.

Just fecking report it and stop arsing about. It doesn't ruin the live feed one bit. The live feed isn't exciting in the slightest so knowing what's coming up won't stop people watching it.

People watch the live feed to see their friends not because they like the adrenaline rush of not knowing what's going to happen next in a game of cards.

Just let Tighty do his job or stop the updates at final time and let the poor sod go the fuck home.

As for the Rastafish I still can't believe some people think he's a bad player. Yes he's not as technically gifted as some of the online wizards and some of his plays are mathematically questionable. However he's an excellent reader of other players and in the live arena that smashes the crap out of knowing about pot odds, ICM, nash equilibrium, combinatronics, blah blah blah....

You can know all the game theory in the world but if the other guy can just look at you and figure out whether you've got nuts or air then I'm afraid you're fucked.

A good point well made about Rasta's ability to read people but I think most people get fed up with the fact that he is only able to make these 'intuitive' calls because he has amassed so many chips through some truly awful play. No one can deny that he is on a massive heater at the moment and this as much as anything is why he is doing so well. He would tell you that himself.

I can take the banter and volume in small doses but the fact that it winds so many people up is why he keeps doing it... I'm not so sure about the fake accents though  - that can be a bit tilting.

Having said all that, well done to him and if the same people won all the time poker would be boring...oh, hang on, the same person does keep winning all the time...

Oh, and my friend Andy Coughlan, who luckboxed his way to ninth, says that Blonde have no idea about fashion sense and that he is the only East Midlands poker player who truly understands 'hooligan chic'.
