After beating a 8240 field in the SCOOP Event #2-M for the $247,200 first prize, Victor Blom is on the verge of winning back to back SCOOP events, with a very deep run in the $530+R SCOOP Event #3-H. He is currently heads-up against a Romanian player 'Ruxandescu', battling it out for the $160,000 first place.

It's pretty insane to run deep in two SCOOP events in one year, yet alone back to back... and with the potential to win both.

Many people, me included, have been sceptical as to how good Isildur1 really is, with his massive cash-game swings, winning and losing $1,000,000 in a day on a regular basis for periods of his short career thus far. He has really shown his class here though... a real talent and great for the game with his fearless playing style

I would imagine he is a firm favourite now, currently with a 3:2 chiplead and I can't imagine the $40k pay-jump is of great concern to the Swedish pro.

Hands like these sure do help though:

Seat 1: Isildur1 (848986 in chips)
Seat 5: Ruxandescu (4699014 in chips)

Ruxandescu: raises 18000 to 36000
Isildur1: raises 72000 to 108000
Ruxandescu: calls 72000
*** FLOP *** [ ]
Isildur1: checks
Ruxandescu: bets 90000
Isildur1: raises 648736 to 738736 and is all-in
Ruxandescu: calls 648736
*** TURN *** [ ] []
*** RIVER *** [ ] [Two Clubs]
*** SHOW DOWN ***

Isildur1 collected 1697972 from pot

Seat 1: Isildur1 (2508444 in chips)
Seat 5: Ruxandescu (3039556 in chips)

Isildur1: raises 19000 to 38000
Ruxandescu: calls 19000

Yh he's a sick puppy alrite.

This doesn't ACTUALLY prove anything though as to his ability, as actually, anyone can win back-to-back scoops. He is though I can say seriously seriously sick poker player, however his weakest format is defo 6max PLO, which is alas what he plays most volume in as virtually no-one gives him HU action even in PLO anymore cos he is a complete fucking beast.

The only difference between praying in a Church and praying at the poker table is that when you pray at the poker table you really mean it.

I heard from a friend that Rupert is very deep in one, play resumes today I think.

Believe it is the $1k 8-H, in which 153 are paid, he is 12/148 overnight.

If true, good luck him!

Confirmed true story. Ash Mason (DYBYDX) going back 3/148 along with my housemate Ben Martin (cheezees) and the one and only Dave Jones (LeKnave).

We can only hope that "WotR" gives these guys a good press!

Great news.

Good luck the lot of them.

When does it resume, please?

We might get a good sweat thread going!
