Only way to deal with it is by his line manager approaching it in a professional and discreet manner. If he doesn't respond to that then he should receive or be offered medical support through an occupational health professional.
It's down to the manager to deal with. Don't resort to bullying, isolation or trying to deal with it yourself or you could find yourself in bother.

thats what i thought but its pretty crap that we have to wait untill he gets his appraisal before he decides to do something about his stench!
