Hotels near Liverpool airport

Don't really need to impress. Just trying to emphasise that it needs to be somewhere nice rather than somewhere cheap.

Plan is to make a night of it so I want to be able to have a nice meal then a few drinks in a decent bar rather than a holiday inn.

marriott pretty decent, 2 mins from lime street station + 1 min walk to genting casino, and not far from concert sq (prob 6-8 mins walk)

A mini break in Liverpool is impressive enough isn't it? So just go for basic accomodation. I believe it's just behind Paris in the romantic city breaks league table. She is bound to be suitably impressed when you arrive at a Travelodge in Liverpool, what more could a girl want? Don't worry, there will undoubtedly be lots of dirty gratitude sex on the cards when she finds out how you roll.

I think the Crowne Plaza 1.7 miles from the airport is the one. 4 star and only £80 for the night.
